Greenies

Healers and herbalists, green witches and doctors, the Greenies are where the Freehold goes when it stubs its toes or needs a quick "I 'accidentally' punched through a concrete wall again" pick-me-up to avoid police suspicion over broken fingers.

The amount of danger involved in membership depends on the individual Greenie's preferences. Someone heading out into the Hedge to dig up brand new goblin fruits is going to risk getting eaten a lot more than a doctor who sits at his clinic treating scraped knees and booboos.

History

Caretakers of The Greengarden nursery at the foot of Mt. Salvation East, the Greenies are one of the most recently 'official' groups maintained by the Freehold. A group of friends, being strangers to Vermont and seeking the comfort of their own company, began to meet at the nursery for friendly debates and conversation, and the sharing of mutual skills, since they were healers and herbalists all.

Soon enough, it was common knowledge that the 'greenies' at the garden could help patch you up, or point you toward the last place they saw jarmyn fruit out in the Hedge if you were set on going out to harvest.

Given the old fashioned and ever so fancy titles other groups chose for themselves, when the Council decided to recognize the Greenies as an official entity, they laughingly went along.

Requirements to Join

Patience and the desire to learn. Anyone pledged to the Freehold and willing to study Medicine is eligible to become a new recruit.

Rank Structure

Grandmaster

Qty: 1
Duties: The Grandmaster is responsible for the leadership and coordination of all other Greenies, and holds a seat upon the Freehold Council. He or she is responsible for hosting monthly meetings, and for disseminating and managing new information, policies, promotions and disciplinary action.
OOCly, they are given Head powers over the Greenies +faction.
Greenie Influence Level: 5

Master Healer

Qty: 1
Duties: While the Grandmaster is the final authority, most day to day issues are handled by the "master" healer, who has the luxury of ignoring all of that bothersome political BS the Grandmaster has to deal with. Typically a medical doctor and one of the most skilled healers in the group, if not THE most skilled healer (and often Spring Court as a result), the Master Healer's duties include working with the Grandmaster to liaise with the other Freehold subgroups and ensure that healers are sent where they are needed, and that they are trained well.
Greenie Influence Level: 4

Master Gardener

Qty: 1
Duties: Similar to the above, the Master Gardener gets to ignore the politics and handles the day to day tasks of the Freehold's goblin fruit gardens, inventory management and harvesting teams sent out with Harvestmen to get wild fruits. The Master Gardener is also typically the manager of The Greengarden nursery itself.
Greenie Influence Level: 4

Greenie

Qty: Unlimited
Duties: The majority of members are varying degrees of healer and herbalist, and help where the Master Healer and Master Gardener think they will best serve the needs of the Freehold. Someone is holding a fight? Call a Greenie. Someone has to go out on a Hedge expedition and they don't tend gardens of their own? Check to see if there's fruit to spare with one of the gardeners.
Full greenies are expected to continue their studies, and often travel with Harvestmen to keep the Freehold's supplies up and study the plants in newly explored areas.
Greenie Influence Level: Mentors: 3, Others: 2

Recruit

Qty: Unlimited
Duties: Learn! Recruits are to be mentored by full members of the group for a minimum of one month, taught both the rudiments of modern medicine and enough to know their way around the basic fruits without murdering either themselves or their patients. In mechanical terms, in order to be promoted, a recruit must have Medicine 2 and a specialty in Occult.Goblin Fruit.
"But I already have all of the Spring Contracts! I can heal Agg! Why do I have to know that stuff, or bother to be a recruit?" one might ask. The answer to that is simple: relying on Contracts is not always feasible, and a basic grounding in mundane medicine and more esoteric studies will ensure that even if an expert isn't available, anyone who calls a Greenie will be getting someone who won't do them more harm than good.
Greenie Influence Level: 1
