The Greenies have their meeting for October.

Location

The Ruined Garden

It's a Monday evening most assuredly and the meeting is being hosted in the garden this evening. It's not supposed to run long. The Grandmaster is dressed in jeans, brown hiking boots and a cream colored sweater that got flecks of dirt on it as she's been messing around in the dirt. There's chocolate truffles, donuts, coffee and hot chocolate on the tables as refreshments for the meeting this evening.

Nathania walks in dressed in jeans and a black longsleeve tee with hiking boots on her feet. She nods to Isolde. "Ooh, truffles," she says, taking one and popping it into her mouth. "Mmm." After eating it, she says, "Thank... you, Isolde." And she gets herself a coffee, moving to sit somewhere nearby.

Aaaand, poof! Suddenly there's an Etsy there. She doesn't walk in, she just suddenly... exists! Trust a Fairest to make an Entrance. The merms de-Separates and de-Smokes all at the same time with a spread of her hands and a trilling, "Tadah!"

Merms just got a be a little fuckin' extra, don't they?

Chocolate is made of mostly milk, right? So mermaids can have that. She collects two large webbed handfuls of chocolate truffles and floofs over to sit down next to Nathania like that was a totally normal way to make an entrance.

Cassian didn't have the wherewithall to manage just 'appearing' in the middle of the convocation like the Mermaid did, but, the odd sound of a stone dropping on the opposite side of the garden walls heralds Cassian's appearance. As is his way, he seems to pause at the top of the wall in an eerily still fashion, before he crosses his legs and prepares to listen.

"Good evening everyone." Isolde states when she sees them each appear. A bright smile when the Mermaid appears the way she does. Then there's a look over her shoulder when she hears the rock and sees Cassian, "Would you like to join us over here, I have some business with you." she states with a smile. Then she looks back to Nathania and Etsy, "Has anyone seen Ash?" she asks them.

Nathania shakes her head. "I haven't," she says regretfully, leaning into the mermaid and snuggling, careful not to get chocolate on her shirt. She grins at the mermaid and nods to Cassian, button eyes wary.

"Am not seeing an Ash in a long times. Did having a seeing of last time did a harvests." Etsy leans against Nathania, popping chocolate truffles into her mouth one after another. Nice sharp teeth bite into the truffles. Well, now you know what it looks like when piranhas have dessert.

Cassian's brow seems to furrow a bit at the mentioning of business. In an instant he tried to remember the things he'd gotten away with in the last week or so. It was hard to tell. But, after a twitching of one of his long ears, he slips down the wall and approaches the others. "Not since our last meeting," Cassian says. His walk to the group is slow, as an outstretched hand runs along the growth beside him in thought. "The land is starting to turn," He mumbles, "Thankful to be remembered again."

"It's a shame, I was hoping that he would stick around and help the Freehold more." Isolde states. "But, it's not something we can sit and fret about." she admits. Then there's a look to Cassian as he comes over to join the ladies and there's a smile to him, "I was going to ask you if you feel confident in taking on the role of Master Gardener for the Greenies." she states to him.

Nathania nods at the talk of Ash, and smiles to Cassian encouragingly as she pulls out her knitting--something bright yellow with greenish undertones, like a leaf falling from a tree.

A small smile flashes across Etsy's face, one of those 'teeth not showing' things that's so common for an Etsy. Apparently this wasn't a surprise to the mermaid.

"Oh," he says, his brow furrowing again. "I thought you were going to tell me to not frighten the Queen any more," Cassian says offhandedly. Like that was a perfectly normal, everyday thing for him to do. He seems to consider this for a moment in thought, before he offers a nod. "I was going to merely suggest a project that would tie us to the garden, but, I do have some other ideas as to how we can turn the growth back in our favor. The work helped, it just needs time to remember it's voice," Cassian says. He nods between Nathania and Etsy as he looks between them. "It was alone for so long," he says.

Isolde chuckles to that, "I actually have no authority to tell you that." she seems amused by that. "And had you scared the Queen too much, you'd have bullets in you. So that's alright." she winks at him. Then she lets him have the floor to speak while she steps back to nibble on one of the truffles.

Nathania eyes the truffles thoughtfully as she pauses her knitting, sipping at her coffee. Then she smiles at Cassian. "Congratulations," she says quietly. "I will help... in any way... I can."

"Congratulations, Cassian. I am having such a gladness that it is you which is a Master Gardener." The mermaid's sea-change eyes glitter happily, like small silver fish are swimming through the sea-change aquariums that are her eyes. Another truffle right into her toothy maw.

"I appreciate the confidence," Cassian says, offering a firm nod. "I think we've made some good headway for the moment. But, as with anything, it's important to keep moving forward. There are stories," Cassian says, before he pulls out a small notebook. Inside are hand-written notes. "There are stories that get passed around of different breeding programs and projects. I think we might be able to utilize some of their ideas to help us. If the Hedge here is a reflection of us, the more we put in to the gardens, the more they'll be welcome to us. It could mean a lot just to have a unified goal we practice at," he says.

Isolde gives a smile to that, "Congratulations, Cassian." she tells him with a nod of her head. Then there's another smile, "Stories are good to learn from." she admits. Then she goes quiet to listen to him.

Nathania looks up at Cassian with a smile, even as she knits. It seems to be more of a nervous habit than anything.

Listening to Cassian, Etsy opines, "is a goodness for blood for many plants." And then she pauses, adding, "What other kinds of a stories is talking abouts? Do want to hear a stories about this."

"Well," Cassian says thoughtfully. "We know of a couple hybrid plants as-is. Jennyapples are a hybrid cross of Jennystones and Stabapples, and are fairly common. But with time and controlled breeding, we could breed unique Fruits. Given enough time, we could even improve the quality of fruits we frequently use already. This is common outside the Hedge, though, the big difference is the psycho-attentive affect we have on the land here. As I said before, the gardens were forgotten, and became feral as the Hedge is want to do. We can shape it, but to create a sustainable environment takes cohabitation and understanding. Plainly, the garden works the more we appreciate it," he says. It was probably the most the Woodblood had spoken all week.
