2017.09.15

The Greenies have their meeting for September.

Location

The Ruined Garden

There was a man standing in the garden that looked well out of place in the well tailored three piece suit he was wearing. And the British accent was probably far more out of place. Roderick had been sent ahead to let people know that Isolde had a trauma patient that she was finishing surgery on and well, she would be a tad late.

The Bright One arrives in scrubs with a hoodie over it, hair in a messy bun and she's got a box of donuts from some fancy place and coffee. Because this is what Doctors run on apparently. "I am so so sorry." she tells everyone as she heads in. "Thank you, Roderick." she tells the dapper looking man.

Nathania is seated on the steps of the gazebo. "It's ok," she says in her soft, quiet voice. "It's a thing. Trauma... patients... come first." She gives a little smile. "Thank you, for... the donuts, anyway." However, the plush rag dolly doesn't partake.

Billy Ray pulls in his normal cooler with beer and probably some sort of pie. He has a NASCAR emblazoned scrub top on, trucker cap, jeans and boots and is talking around an unlit cigarette in the corner of his mouth, to Isolde. "Lemme tell ya Doc that's firs' class, firs' class. The way you cut down that vein, mwah, that's some Picasso level shit, y'knowwhatImean? Also, that resident, whats his name, that Ivy League dude, Percy? He's got a mouth on 'em. Want ah should meet him on the way to his car and educ-ma-cate him 'bout how you talk t' a woman all proper like? Oooh did you get chocolate glazed?"

When Isolde arrives? The mermaid is there, having given Roderick her thanks with the easy way that Etsy has: she lives in a grand house now with a butler, after all, and mermaid princesses are made to be doted upon, so a manservant is just what she expects. In any case, she's lounging in the water of the low pool, her dresses folded at the side of the pool, the slippers, too. Her otter is asleep, curled up on the ground by the pool's edge. "Is not having a problems. Had a lounging, and a swims, is good. Is patient okays?"

Ash has simply been standing, waiting patiently for others to arrive, and watching the plants in the garden as they bloom. The accelerated lifespan of the hedgelife make it so that it is something that's possible to do but most people would probably still find it terribly tedious, possible or not. "That is alright," the giant woodblood answers, his rate of speech slow and languorous, words coming forth only slightly faster than the ripening goblin fruit. "We have not been waiting for very long."

There was a dark shadow in the garden, along the outer wall where a grouping of Fruits settled. If anyone grew close, they might hear Cassian talking. To the plants. "That was when the monster struck, killing the little blonde girl. It was monstrous," Cassian whispers, shaking his head. "Needless to say, Jason was a little concerned about his safety. Being a completely unwise teenage boy, he decided to try and outrun the monster..." Cassian says. To the plants.

Isolde gives a chuckle to Billy Ray, "I can show you how to do it sometime and yes, there's chocolate glazed." she tells him. Then there's a smile to the others, "Good evening and thank you." she states, then there's a smile to Nathania, "Welcome back." she tells her. Then there's a smile to Ash, "Thank you." she states. Then her eyes fall over to where Cassian is and there's a soft quirk of her eyebrow, "How are they doing?" she asks him. Then she finds herself a seat on the floor and settles the box down, "This is not a very formal meeting, everyone take a seat and relax." she motions to them

Nathania smiles softly, awkwardly. "Thank... you." She rubs at her flat nose and smiles again, looking around. She shifts to be closer to Etsy but doesn't get in the water.

Isolde gives a look over into the pond where Etsy is lounging and grins, "That looks like it's getting more comfortable. And our patient is fine now. Thank goodness." she tells the mermaid.

Ash wanders over to the group, moving with long, plodding steps. It takes a little bit of time for him to sit as he sort of folds in on himself a bit awkwardly. Eventually though he takes a seat on the ground along with the others.

Billy Ray snags a chocolate glazed; opens his cooler and cranks open a can of Budweiser and drops into a seat, getting comfortable. He gives a wave to the folks he recognizes and those that he doesn't. He takes a long draw from the Bud before biting into the donut, and grins at Isolde, "Y'got it!" he tells her. "Eya Miss Etsy."

Cassian's knife-ears tilt upward a bit at Isolde's question, and he continues to sit with the plants, faced away from the group. He could feel them--That was enough. He was hungry, like the plants. "They like Nightmares," Cassian whispers quietly, reaching out to pet at a few petals of a nearby flower, "Nightmares and Slasher stories." He pauses a moment, before leaning forward to the plant. "We'll finish up next time," he says.

"Mostly I wanted to get us all together to meet the new faces. Cassian and Ash are both new to us and more than capable with their gardening skills." Isolde states as she snags a donut. She was not going to be shy about eating. "And everyone has been working on the garden here, so thank you for that." she adds. "We'll get regular meetings going. I know another Grandmaster is a bit to get used to." she tells them.

Ash gives a slow nod of his head to everyone assembled and in his deep, grating voice offers up his traditional greeting of, "I am Ash." Nothing more to say, really, since he has met most of the people already in one capacity or another.

Billy Ray grins at Isolde and lifts his beer to Cassian and Ash, "Eya, y'all. Billy Ray Johnson. Inventor, gunsmith, metal, wood, blades, y'name it. Ain't too good at th' gardenin' but paramedic trained an' Occult trained. If it's technology, ah can tear that sum'bitch apart an' take it back together ag'in. Hedgespun, Token whatnots."

"Cassian," the knife-ear says, as he rises to his feet. The movements are nimble but the pale-skinned creature didn't seem to make anything look entirely easy. "Salutations," he offers to them, but he doesn't approach any closer. He liked the shadowy area. "I am less knowledgeable about healing outside of fruits and food, but, I'm good with fruit. I'm also a Merchant, selling my private stock of foods and goods," he offers.

"We've all got specialties to focus on and that's a good thing." Isolde states as she looks around to them. "Does anyone have any questions or anything? I'm going to be setting up a few projects that will need multiple hands. And Billy Ray probably needs help with the clinic and things still." she offers as she looks to BR.

"I was told by the merchants at the goblin market that they are in need of healing fruit," Ash says. "Obviously we need to keep a good supply here in case it is needed but we can probably get a good price for any surplus that we want to trade. That is how I was able to get the Scar Thistle and the Serpent Gourd that I transplanted here." He pauses to think for just a moment and then asks Billy Ray, "Do you know the Contract of Artifice? I have a couple of Promise Leaves that I found. I understand they are very useful with that contract."

Billy Ray sketches a salute to the two, and nods to Isolde, "Yes'm, th' clinic still got some work left t'do t'get fully operational." to the other two he adds, "It's on the corner a' mah property - where Hold Mah Beer is, mah shop. Small li'l clinic we been workin' on, fer some simple medical care." he says before he turns to Ash, his eyes going -wide-, "Oh hell yes, bubba. Ah'm learned in Artifice, hell, it's th' one Contract ah got ah've learned all there is about it. Yeah, those leaves, they let me extend th' amount a' time the stuff lasts. Best use is fer a perfection blessin' - with the right luck ah can git that sumbitch blessin' to last a whole day!"

"I would prefer the Goblin Market didn't have any extra Goblin Fruits," he says, snickering slightly, "Otherwise I'm going to have to find another way to stay in such luxurious fashion." Cassian rolls his shoulders a moment in thought, "But, I'm not an unreasonable individual. I'm willing to share as long as I can continue to make a living," he says, "That is my profession. I don't daylight as some Joe in the City every day."

Billy Ray sketches a salute to the two, and nods to Isolde, "Yes'm, th' clinic still got some work left t'do t'get fully operational." to the other two he adds, "It's on the corner a' mah property - where Hold Mah Beer is, mah shop. Best use is fer a perfection blessin' - with the right luck ah can git that sumbitch blessin' can last -forever-, at a reduced level!"

"We could see about the Market and things." Isolde gives a nod to Ash at his words. Then there's a moment where she settles back and takes the first bite of her donut and chews as she watches Billy Ray speak. Her eyes then fall over to Cassian when he talks on his Market business and there's an 'ah' before she clears her mouth, "Makes sense." she tells them quietly. Then there's a look around, "Ash, you and Etsy have done excellent work so far. You as well, Cassian." she tells the Darkling with a smile.

"Yes," Ash says to Cassian as he reaches for the bag hanging over his shoulder. He begins to rummage around in it as he talks. "I was thinking that you could be the one to take the fruit to the market since you are a merchant. It would probably be more profitable for us than simply selling them to the merchants." He produces a pair of promise leaves and hands them over to Billy Ray before nodding to Isolde and saying, "Thank you. I am very happy with the pond and stream now."

"Aww man, thank you," B-Ray says as he reverently takes the leaves. He digs into his cooler, some damp towels are used to wrap the leaves and he carefully stores them in a small container, a wide grin for Ash, "Thank y'so much, bubba. Ah owe you - y'ever need anythin' medical an' doc here ain't around or y'need weapons or armor or anythin' technical, y'let me know! Holy crap!"

"It's easy when you can hear them talk," Cassian says, towards Isolde. It wasn't quite a literal thing, but, it had to make sense. "In any case, I can help a bit with a Clinic, but, I would not trust me with anything sharp. I ... well," he says. The truth was he was a bit further along than the others. "I'm no good with people, is all," he admits.

"Thank you for sharing those." The Bright One tells Ash with a smile. Isolde gives a look to Cassian and then there's a softer smile, "You wouldn't be dealing with Humans, Cassian. It's a clinic for Lost." she explains. "Billy Ray and I could use help with building and things." she clarifies. "If you want to focus on gardens that's fine with us." she tells him. Then she finishes off her donut and sips her coffee. "Does anyone need anything from me at this moment?" she asks them.

"Indeed. And 'sides, th' Doc is easy goin'; look at my NASCAR scrub top she didn't yell at me at in the OR tonight!" B-Ray tells Cassian with a grin. "And thank ya Mister Ash, thank ya so much. Yeah, ah wanna get th' clinic up an' runnin'. That's kinda my priority right now. An' gettin' my Token and Hedgespinnin' business up an' gettin' folks geared up."

Ash shakes his head slowly to Isolde. "I think I will work on clearing out some of the overgrowth next," he says in his slow manner of speech. "Of course I may be drawn away but some of the other repairs that the freehold needs."

"As I said, I'm eager to help," he offers. "Moonglade is a welcome place, just mind the Lilies--No, well, yea. The Lilies and the ... Roz. Yea," he says, "The Hobs may demand candy if you come by. They like that one, with the red box. Uh, Hot Tomales. I think it's the spices," he says, before rubbing at his ear absent-mindedly. "And if you need certain things from the market, as they say in the city, 'The Devil you know', right?" He offers.
