Byron arrived in town a few years ago and quickly found himself a job working on the loading docks of the Whelan Chronicle, loading the delivery trucks every morning before they take the latest edition off to newsstands, and goes out of his way to avoid notice because of his exceptionally large size - he does not volunteer for things outside of his work, is always on time, does his work, and vanishes like a fart in the wind when his work is done. Byron joined Fate's Harvest when the freehold formed, and stepped up at one point to head the exploration squad of the Harvestmen, then led the organization as a whole when Jonah vanished. He's since stepped down and handed the reins over to the then-second-in-command Paige. He tends to focus on keeping an eye on what is going on in the local hedge, making sure locals do not get in over their heads, and discouraging the more dangerous residents of the Hedge from setting up camp close to a common Gate. Most recently, Byron has taken oaths with Ashe Whelan and taken her last name in a mundane marriage ceremony, though he still tries to keep a low profile at work...considering last names aren't really broadcast around the loading dock folks, he's hoping this wont start any 'oh, you're married to the boss now...' friction.
