Overview

Allen carries himself like he would rather you ignore him so he can blend into the crowd. Most of his appearance and body language tries to broadcast his intention to be left alone: head down looking at his shoes or the ground, black hair falling over his brown eyes, ill-fitting clothing that was out of style seven years ago, back bowed like he grew too tall too quickly when he was younger. Add his quiet voice to his appearance and it would seem that he's just another sullen young guy in his mid-20s who might not be worth the trouble.

If you get to know him, you find that he'd rather know more about you than tell you about himself. He tells the barest facts about himself: He never knew his parents. He was raised in Queens by an aunt and uncle who resented him and made him run their household. He ran away from home and eventually found his way to Vermont.

If you're a Changeling, you don't actually get a lot more: His Durance was much like his home life before he was taken, only a hundred times worse. That's mostly what he'll tell you if you ask: either he doesn't remember much more than that, or he just simply will not talk about it.

He seems truly happy when he is working with his hands. He's fond of crafting, and true friends will get handmade gifts on special occasions (mostly jewelry and small statuary). He's recently gotten a job at Weissmann & Schwartz, a construction and architectural business in Fort Brunsett, working as a part of the permanent construction crew.

RP Hooks

  • Artistic - He makes statuary and jewelry. How does such a large man make such delicate things?
  • Not From Around Here - When he talks, he gives hints of a New York accent. He tries to hide it.
  • Dusty From the Road - He has stories from his time hitchhiking from NYC to Vermont, if you can pull them out of him.
  • Changeling - He is one: an Ogre Stonebones with Artistic talent.
  • The Leaden Mirror - He's a part of the Autumn Court. This may seems odd to folks who rely on stereotypes to make assumptions about people.
  • Fate's Harvest - He's pledged to the Freehold.
  • Fully Automated Luxury Queer Space Communism - He's pledged to this motley, which, again, may seem odd to folks make assumptions based on stereotypes. (Seriously, though, is he a communist? Or non-hetero?)

Contacts

  • Poppy - I guess I don't mind being her meat shield.
  • Gisa - They saw me, they fed me, they talked to me. I like them.
  • Alonso - He takes all of his words and makes them into actions. I guess that makes him brave.

Soundtrack

Dar Williams - This Earth

I love this land of mortal men
They wake to know the fire again
The things we make, the things we feel
Armor plates and molten steel
All of these inventions of the Earth

Soundgarden - Rusty Cage

You wired me awake
And hit me with a hand of broken nails
You tied my lead and pulled my chain
To watch my blood begin to boil
But I'm gonna break I'm gonna break my
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

Tom Waits - What's He Building

He has no friends but he gets a lot of mail
I'll bet he spent a little time in jail
I heard he was up on the roof last night
signaling with a flashlight
and what's that tune he's always whistling
What's he building in there?
What's he building in there?
We have a right to know
