"Morning, Liam!," is offered cheerfully by the female of the Lefevre clan present. "And yes, Cam, stranger than normal. The deaths aren't exciting, of course, but there's definitely something up, you know?" She eyes the trail of forest debris that Liam trails in his wake, but there's no actual complaint - a little nature hardly ever hurts. "I've got this great oolong," she offers towards Liam. "Get you right and ready for Friday." She doesn't wait, of course, for Liam to confirm that's what he'll have. No, just sets right to making it, loose leaves put into the little silver ball to steep om the hot water. Cinnamon, clove, immediately filling the air.
Cam, like Liam probably has, has learned over time to not even bother when Avalon starts deciding what is best for someone or what it is they want. So what if she's usually straight on point... He takes a tentative sip of his tea, still hot, but seems pleased with it. "Which one's this one?" he asks, not having actually /ordered/ anything as much as he showed up and Avalon shoved tea at him shortly after he was settled in. He nods his head to the seat near him to tell his cousin to sit. "Things are good. Thinking of learning to bartend. You know, for a job. Since I'm avoiding being an accountant and mom's on my case to get a real job. Doesn't she know rockstar in the making is a full time gig?" He grins at that. "You out in the woods again this morning? We should go camp one night. Always clears my head when we do." Because /nature/.
"What about wednesday and thursday?" Liam asks. "Not much point being ready for Friday when its only tuesday. Wouldn't be fair to skip them." he smiles across at Cam. "Could always become a tree surgeon." Because everyone wants to spend their life climbing trees and playing with chainsaws. "Course I was out in the woods. I work remember. Not like certain rockstars in the making." he gives Avalon a brief grin before looking at Cam again. "Depends. Are you gonna insist on packing an ipod instead of something you deign unimportant this time?" Having delivered that to Cam he looks back at Avalon. "So. Whats the gossip? Who died?"
"Yours? It's a white, with orange and coriander, just a hiiint of cinnamon and vanilla," Avalon muses. "Just that bit of spice, but nice and soothing, right?" Of course she's right. She's a goddamn tea witch. Starting her own - taking from the same container as Liam's - she sets it to steep and glances towards the little watch on her left wrist. A roll of her eyes for Cam, before she continues, "Those thirteen bodies they found in the woods, not too long back. Then the drowning. I was out there with Vinnie - ", of course she was, "And we found some...weird stuff. Hey, Liam. How big do snakes get, around here?"
"I was trying to work on a new song and looking for inspiration. Of course the ipod was important!" Cam protests. "But fine, I'll make sure to have everything on the list," he consents with the tone of a kid who is listening to a parent or something. Yes daddy. "And wait, you were out there with Vinnie? Why would you go out there? There are worse things than snakes out there." He seems to like the blend of tea he got, because he's drinking it. "This is the one I had last week, right? I thought it tasted familiar. I like this one. Maybe my new favorite. Until you get more of that mint one back that tastes like black licorice." A pause. A slightly worried expression. "I haven't seen snakes get /that/ big around here. Not like big enough to make someone ask about them in that kind of tone. You see something?"
Liam gives a vague shrug. "Not really that big, not the local ones anyhow. Its just not warm enough for the big ones. Why did you see something that made you wish you were carrying?"
"Yeah, same one as last time. The other one will come back, eventually. You know how these things are." These things being that sometimes, Avalon is a bit of a space cadet and forgets to reorder certain blends that only certain people like. #sorrynotsorry. "And we were out there because that's what I do, Cam. You know that. Plus I've been having some weird experiences down by the river myself and wanted to make sure that it wasn't the same source." Tea done steeping, she takes out the infusers and slides one cup over to Liam, along with a little pot of honey, rock sugar. No milk. "A shed, the snake that it belonged to had to be at least six feet long. Seemed...off, for around here."
"Just because you do that stuff doesn't mean you should be out doing it without... help," Cam mentions, being all protective for a second even though he'd be about useless. Unless it required playing guitar or doing math. Then he'd be helpful. But those events almost never happen so ... useless. "I wrote you a note," he mentions about the mint tea. "And it sounds dangerous. How is Vinnie with dangerous?"
"Yeah that does seem off." Liam agrees. "But not unfeasible. Could just be off someones pet." He lifts his cup the moment its offered to him and starts blowing on the surface so that he can hazard a drink. "Weird like." he puts his cup down for long enough to stir some honey into it before picking it back up again. "its the east bank - or weird like weird weird?" He nods over his tea. "Cam's right tho. You shouldn't be doing something like that without some muscle."
"If it's someone's pet, we also found a child's shoe next to it," Avalon muses, as she adds a touch of honey to her own tea before raising it to inhale the aroma of it. Mmm. "Vinnie can handle herself, I'm sure. And it was on the East Bank, so. It just..." She purses her lips, exhales, making the steam from her tea stream away from her face. "It's nothing that I know. And I know a lot of the local shit." Like she shouldn't be at East Bank, to begin with. "Yes, yes, I know. Clearly, what I need is someone with muscle to call on for the weird shit."
"Well you could've called me," Cam mumbles into his tea as he sips it. Because he looks like muscle, especially with a teacup in his hand. "Wait a shoe? Like you think... it didn't eat a kid did it? And you shouldn't wander too much around by yourself, or without someone else in the family at least. Remember how we'd get yelled at for wandering off too much when we were younger? And all the lectures about being safe?"
Liam says "Cant understand why anyone would keep a snake like that around kids. Then again. Maybe some brat just took it out there to show off to the other brats?" he shrugs at this. "Course. Could also be an evil snake monster that eats children. Hard to say." He smiles at Cam. "Course not. Evil snake monsters aren't at all real." He adds a bit more honey to his tea. "You probably should include your brother in this sort of stuff though. He can keep watch whilst you do your 'stuff' if nothing else." He looks at Cam and smiles a bit. "That's because its not safe. Cant blame your folks for being careful. There's only so much the Lefevre reputation and spells can do."
"Fine, fine. Next time I'm looking into actual potential murders or extra weird, I'll bring someone family along." Avalon gives a sigh of long-suffering, and takes a sip of her tea, leaning against her side of the counter. "Oh, of course. No such thing as monsters," is given, not exactly convincingly. "Speaking of tricks, though, Liam. Sometime, maybe I can meander my way up to the home base and get a few pointers on things that you're bound to be better at than I am?"
"Didn't say it had to be family." Liam says. "Just pointing out that whilst you're in a trance you can't tell what the hell is going on. What if you were sitting there, having a nice chat with the kids ghost or something, and the murderer walked in? Least with your brother there he can hit you or something." He sips at his tea. "I think your trances are a bit lighter than mine right? So that would probably work." He chuckles as she denies monsters exist and then asks. "What were you wanting to talk about anyway?"
Of course there are no such things as monsters! Cam just sips his tea and glances between the pair, listening in. He does seem to relax a little when Avalon says she won't go without backup, though. "Well yeah, I'm pretty good at smacking her upside the head to get her to pay attention to me," he jokes.
"I guess that I can't really argue with that logic." Though there's clearly a part of Avalon that wishes that she could. Because she's a stubborn thing, in the end. Always has been. "And yeah, I can't go too deep, really. Working on that, though. And the rest. Never stop learning, right?" Right. "And more...spirit stuff. Hitting a bit of a wall, trying to just learn on my own. Figured if anyone could help me push through it, it'd be you."
"I suppose." Liam says. "Not sure why you'd really fuss with all that stuff though. You're a witch not a shaman." he grins at Cam. "might have to see if you can pull me out one of these days."
"Well if it ever comes to trying, hopefully it won't be a dire situation," Cam points out with a grin. "And it's Av. She wants to do All The Things. You know how she is, always trying to test the limits of her powers." Look at him talk about her like she's not even there! "Meanwhile I'm just happy being over here in the cool kids of normality corner." He's clearly joking.
Avalon makes a little gesture to Cam, then taps her nose. He's got it. "Because if it's something that I can learn to do? I want to give it a go. Never know when I might need it, and I can't always rely on being able to call up my favorite woodland cousin to look into things." She smirks to Cam, reaching across the counter to pat his shoulder. "Our little weirdo."
"Wish I was right there with you Cam." Liam says. "But, you know how it goes. Start babbling about shiny squirrels when you're five and after that there really aren't many choices to be had. Least you got to choose to be" he gestures at the other man with his mostly empty tea cup. "Whatever you are." He looks at Avalon. "Suppose that's fair enough. I don't want you to have to rely on me really. Just don't forget all this stuff has to be paid for somehow, you know."
Cam does give a little hint of a shrug. Because it's easier to be 'normal' in the general world, but it's still hard to be left out from everyone else in the family. Must be how adopted kids feel or something. But it's also /easier/ to be normal. No worrying about learning things or finding balances or being a target or anything. Avalon's touch on his shoulder gets her a wry little smile. "Y'all need to stop being haters and just accept the fact that I'm the coolest one in the family. Not to mention also the best looking, most talented, smartest and best dresser."
That glance to Liam's cup is a quiet offer to refill it, without having to break the threads of their conversation. "He's got a point," she says towards Cam. "Let you focus on other stuff, too." There's a not-so-delicate snort that comes for Cam's words, and she looks her little brother over. "I'll give you talented. But definitely not best dressed." Av sips her tea, taking her time with it, as she glances around the cafe.
Liam drains his cup and offers it back to Av. "If he's the best looking what does that make me?"
"How about the must... rugged looking?" Cam offers with a laugh. "Oh look, she's getting all upset that she's not the best dressed. Awww, how cute," he teases, preparing to duck in case Avalon tries to hit him.
Another sip of tea, then Avalon is taking Liam's cup to go through the process of tea-leaves and hot water. "Woodsiest," she offers. "Most likely to smell like freshly-turned earth." She quirks her lips, before there's the toss of a balled-up napkin towards Cam. "Pfft. Like I need you to validate how awesome my wardrobe is." A shake of her head. "Anyways, Liam. What's been shaking with you? Aside from trees?"
Liam gives a vaguely unhappy grunt. "Which of those am I supposed to be happy about ceding to my cousin here?" he lifts an eyebrow at Cam. "Hows about we both see who gets the most phone numbers? That will prove it once and for all." He grins back at Avalon. "I reckon you're a better dresser than Cam here. Dont worry Avalon. Not even saying that just because you've got the tea supply. Speaking of. Wheres my food?" He lightly taps the counter with his closed fist. "Feed me and maybe I'll talk."
Cam sets down his tea and smirks. "I'll be right back," he says as he heads to the bathroom or something.
"Always so needy," Avalon muses, amusement showing in her tone. But a heartbeat later, there's a ham and cheese quiche placed in front of Liam. It's a rather big piece, because, well. Family. And also woodsman. "Bribery does work, though. Quite well."
Liam climbs into one of the nearby seats and gives Avalon a bright grin. "leaves are starting to turn." he offers as payment. "There's a really really fine waitress at the Crossroads and I'm starting to get used to the nightmares." He reaches for a fork and picks a piece of the quiche up with the tines. "Enough?"
Following the quiche, a moment later Liam's refreshed tea is placed by the plate. "Mm. It's my favorite season. Summer's nice, don't get me wrong. But that scent in the air and the crunch of leaves under foot is just so damn satisfying to my soul." Avalon's mis-matched eyes gleam, and only grow brighter. "Oh, definitely not enough. What's her name? What's she look like? And what's this about nightmares?"
"Been having them for a while now." Liam says. "Was starting to drive me crazy but now they are just nightmares and not something that wakes me up so its not such a big deal." he pauses to shovel away some more of the rapidly vanishing quiche. Although the eating method isn't exactly the height of etiquette he does at least wait until his mouth is empty before talking again. "Always playing some game or another but anytime I manage to work out how to win the rules change."
There's a purse of lips from Avalon, thoughtful. It goes with the little furrow between her brows. "I...think I've heard that before." Which seems to give her a bit of concern. She glances towards the direction that her brother went off to, then back to her cousin. "That's...hmm." More thoughtful sounds, as she sips her tea. "And the waitress?"
"Yeah?" Liam asks. "Is it the latest dream trend?" he chuckles at that and then makes one of those cross your heart gestures. "A gentleman never tells."
It doesn't take but a minute for Cam to return from the restroom, having voided all the tea that was starting to pool in his bladder. He heads back to his seat at the counter. "Wow. I miss something serious or we all just in a mood now because I left for a second?" he asks about the more somber tone of the assembly than when he left.
"Yes, but what about you, Liam? C'mon, not fair to bring up a girl and not give any details." Avalon gives a little smile, but once Cam is back, she frowns again. "Liam's having weird dreams about games." She looks her brother up and down, at that.
Liam waggles his eyebrows at Avalon. His smile taunting. "Been lots of women lately. Which one was it you were after again?" When she points out the game thing he looks over at Cam. "Games where the rules keep changing. Yeah."
"Wait, Liam's got a girl?" Cam asks as he finishes settling in. He glances at Avalon, then at Liam again, his smile fading a little. "Weird dreams about games?" he asks in an echo of his sister's words. "Wait, how long've those been going on?"
"Just remember, when I start sitting at the Crossroads and harassing the waitresses to figure out which one you've got your eye on, it's all your fault," Avalon says with a smirk to Liam. That brief moment of lightness, before it's back to Super Serious stuff. A gesture, with tea cup, between both men. "Doesn't sound right, both of you having dreams like that."
Liam air-stabs his fork in Cam's direction. He's sat at the counter with a decimated quiche and a cup of tea at hand. He's also dressed like he's been working outdoors "So now I'm both the ugly one and the one who can't get girls? I'll have you know that I've had plenty." He grabs his tea cup as Avalon brings attention to the brews existence. He spends a moment stirring in honey and drinks a bit before answering in a far more serious tone. "I dunno.. Six weeks maybe? Like I said it was really rough to start with but its alright now. Need company to sleep sometimes but I'm dealing." Avalon gets a brief grin. "Don't blame me if one of them stabs you."
Someone is standing outside the brick building smoking. Pacing and smoking. There appears to be a police squad car out there as well, and they are watching each other: the smoking man and the cops in the car. Eventually, the former makes his way into the cafe, bringing that cloud of smoke in with him. C.B. pauses near the entrance, frowning, hands deep in pockets. He's never been in here before, after all, so there are things to see and check for. The battered Red Sox cap on his head is removed for a moment so he can shove his hands through his hair, and then he takes exactly one step to the right so he's not blocking the door as he continues to look around.
"Forget the waitresses, there was this girl in there the other day who was hot as all get out. Red hair, little white dress..." Cam just makes a motion toward his heart like he's in looooove, but it's clearly just a joke. Because girls with red hair are hot. Boys with red hair are dorks. She's clearly out of his league. (But then again, aren't most girls?) "Anyway, that sounds... well it's only been like a couple weeks since I started, but if we're on the same track, maybe it's connected? Shit. We don't have some nightmare family curse I wasn't told about do we?" he asks as he sits there at the counter, Liam near him and Avalon behind the counter. His hands wrap around his tea again as if in thought.
Avalon is on the business side of the counter, her long hair bound back loosely and a cup of tea in her hands as she stands, near to Liam and Cam. She's dressed in a black top with a lace shawl over her shoulders, a dark green skirt that flows around her and brushes the tops of her booted feet. There's a soft frown on her lips, though it's quick to turn to a grin at Liam's words. "What kind of Lefevre would I be, if I wasn't willing to get stabbed in the pursuit of knowledge? Anyways. I don't like it. The dream thing. Especially if they're following the same path, and you can't win. It sounds like...something fucking with you. I don't know. I'll have to look into it, if I can." There's a roll of her eyes to Cam, but it's then that she sees the new entry to the cafe, and the cop car parked outside. Hm. Mis-matched eyes look over C.B., and there's just a touch of recognition there. "Welcome to the Seventh House. Let me know if you need anything," is given in friendly, even bright, tones. Nevermind that her brows are still furrowed.
"Don't think so." Liam tells Cam. "But I've had bad dreams before. Sure they haven't been like this consistently for so long but it's not like I've never had them. Still.. if we're all having the same one maybe we should look at it. Are you not having them Avalon?" He twists in his seat to look at C.B. when he realises that they are staring at the man near the door. "That's the guy that set fire to that cop?"'
C.B. squints. That Cam guy looks vaguely familiar. Liam he doesn't recognize. And Avalon at the counter...she seems vaguely familiar, too, though he can't place it. Or anything else. Shitty memory. Although when she says something about dreams, he looks interested. After her greeting, he wanders closer to the counter, his own brows just as furrowed as Avalon's. "Yeah, hi. Do you serve coffee, or just -- " His eyes slide to Liam. Did he happen to catch what he said? It's not that big of a place, so one can assume he did, given the droll comment moments later, a scowl on his face now. "Yep. That was me." Back to Avalon, "Do you serve coffee, or just tea?"
Cam is often familiar to people, even if they aren't quite sure why. Or most of the time it's 'Oh wow it's That Guy' and they have no idea what his name is but they remember the face. Or maybe the hair. His hair is pretty memorable. So he doesn't seem to notice when anyone looks at him like that. Maybe he's just used to it. Maybe he just didn't notice. Who knows. "Guess it was," Cam mentions quietly to Liam as the newcomer clarifies that yep, it was him. He gives him a slightly wary look, but he doesn't seem overly concerned. If anyone can take care of themselves, it's his sister and his cousin. "Yeah, we definitely should look into it. I had no idea you were having them, too. Glad to know I'm not going crazy."
"I'm not having them, no. Which is..." Avalon makes a little gesture at the side of her head, fingers waggling. "Strange. The kind of strange I both don't like and get excited for." Bad news strange. She looks over to C.B. once he's closer, and Liam's words have her doing a double take over him. "I have a dark roast, I can't promise that it's great, if you don't want to try one of the teas," she offers. "Mostly it's the teas."
Liam smiles at C.B. when he answers the question. "Thought so." He lifts his tea cup and takes another drink before looking at Avalon. "If it was something weird weird then I'd think you would be having them too." He looks to C.B. "Are you having nightmares?" A break whilst he starts to lift the cup to his mouth again and then he suddenly asks. "So why did you really do it? Did he sleep with your wife? Hang your dog from your front door? Has to have be something big I reckon."
C.B. gives Cam a wary look back, but doesn't say anything. To Avalon, he says, a tad impatiently, "Okay, fine. What tea do you recommend with caffeine?" Why is he here, anyway? He probably has his reasons. When Liam asks him about the nightmares, though, he actually seems a little surprised. "What /kind/ of nightmares?" he asks suspiciously, eyes narrowing...and they stay narrowed until after Liam asks his next question. There's a big snort and he rolls his eyes. "No one actually /reads/ the news. I'm beginning to think that no one in this town knows how to read at all." To Avalon, "I'll get it to go. Thanks."
"Can't always trust reporters," Cam offers helpfully. "Sometimes they give the truth that they think is right, not what really happened. Especially when there's something juicy to hide. Hey sis, get me more of the white and orange tea? I'm almost done with this one." That part is said in Avalon's direction. Clearly the girl who looks close to nothing like him is his sister. "And be glad. You aren't having them. They suck. Mess with your head. That is definitely not the kind of strange you would like or get excited for."
"Liam," Avalon near hisses, "You can't just ask people why they moltov'd a police station. Allegedly." She gives a quick, apologetic look to C.B. before twisting about. "Oh! I have just the thing. Has a bit of a coffee-like taste to it, plenty of caffeine to keep you going." The tea witch looks thrilled at it, bobbing her head to Cam along the way. "I'm glad that I'm not having them. A game you can't win, is no game for me." Teas steep, one in a to-go cup that proudly proclaims that it's made from recycled materials, before she looks to C.B.. Right in the eyes. "Maybe you've heard more about it?" That's a ...very pointed question, from the woman.
Liam gives Avalon a wide grin. "Why not Av?" he asks her honestly. "Its not like the papers are gonna get the answer now is it?" He turns to look at C.B "Always best to get it from the horses mouth anyhow. But. Since you only allegedly did it. Guess I'd best say Sorry." He turns back to the counter enough that he can start picking at his pie again but his head is angled so that he can still see and hear everyone's responses.
"Oh, I know you can't trust reporters, but I also wager that most people in this town are illiterate," C.B. tells Cam, brows raised. But he looks interested again a moment later. "What are they about, these nightmares? I'm curious." He seems to looking between all of them, like he's hoping they'll tell him but is certain they won't....until he comes face to face with Avalon, staring him right in the eyes as she is. "Maybe I have," he says casually. "I'll try that tea." Then he snorts at Liam. "It's not like /you're/ gonna get the answer, either. You could try asking Johnny Pig out there." He peevishly points a finger towards the window, where the squad car sits in wait.
Cam does elbow Liam slightly when Avalon informs him that he can't just ask people why they're wh-- er why he moltov'd a cop shop. "It's just a question," he points out. "If you're having nightmares. Seems the town's having them. I wonder if they're pumping something into our water. Like-- what was that town in France that went crazy because of LSD in the grain or something? We learned about it in history class. Like during or after World War Two or something? Anyway, could be that. Could be just this weather. I'm willing to bet on the weather."
There's a seriousness that continues to grow in Avalon, as she stands there pretty much staring at C.B. "A wager that you'd lose, Mister Alexander," she murmurs. "Though if it was, surely a man such as yourself would understand that the reason would be people are victims to their class, and that we've got a lot of farmers about, maple tappers and otherwise, where working the land is more necessary to survival than being able to read the latest gossip written by Enid about you." A thoughtful sound, as she finally stops staring at the man to check her watch. "Could be something like that, sure," she says to Cam, as if she doesn't believe it at all. "You need another slice, Liam?" Turning her back, so that she can take out the tied bag from the to-go cup, put a lid on it, and offer it to C.B.. "Local honey there," a point to the counter, "And sugar rocks there too. Shouldn't need milk."
Liam says "Usually down to ergot when people go insane after eating grain." to Cam before giving C.B a vaguely apologetic smile and a shrug. "Who said I expected the truth." He puts his fork down on the plate after finishing his last mouthful of quiche and gives a nod and a smile to Avalon. "Sure do know how to make my day Av." He looks back at C.B. "As for my dreams. I'm playing games and the rules keep changing. It's frustrating and leaves a taste of things being really wrong more than its frightening usually."
"'Le Pain Maudit,' 1951" C.B. tells Cam, his eyes a little wide. "Don't listen to what anyone says, it was the CIA. Bet on it." But then...Avalon is getting all serious with him, and his brow furrows more and more as she goes on. "Plenty of farmers can read. And I don't want them reading gossip about me from Enid, either. Believe me." He seems put off now, though, and digs out some crumpled bills to place on the counter as he takes his tea. He looks on the verge of leaving when Liam delivers up that little nugget about his dreams. Then he seems interested again: "What kind of games? That sounds...harrowing."
"You think you won, only you find out the rules changed and nobody told you," Cam mentions. He snaps his fingers and points to C.B. "Yeah, that place. See, I know history! And wait, you're worried about that gossip column? She talked about me once. Didn't bother me, much. Except it reminded people of the worst day of my life."
"I'm just saying, don't insult my people. They don't deserve it. I don't insult yours." Avalon moves back over with Cam's tea, then returns to the cup that she's been sipping at for a while now. Just long enough for that new piece of quiche to heat up a bit. "Weird, right? Mass hallucinations are one thing, but shared dreams? Strange things are afoot at the Circle K." The tea smells good, just a hint of coffee and mocha to the scent. A small wince, as Cam mentions the Worst Day Ever, and she's then handing over another big slice of quiche to Liam.
Liam picks up his new quiche slice and moves to his feet. "Gotta go." he says. "Tree wont cut itself down." he gives CB a friendly nod and then looks back at Avalon. "Come by later tonight and I'll show you some things."
"You too, then, huh?" C.B. looks curiously at Cam, seeming to make a mental note. Not about the gossip...about the dreams. He rolls his eyes again and says, "Not /worried/ about the gossip column, I just think it's a travesty." He scoffs at Avalon next, pointing out, "I'm an /Alexander/. Chances are, the most illiterate people in this town belong to /my/ family, not yours," though he has no idea what her family is. A little nod is given to Liam in return, but C.B. is heading for the door, too. "Thanks for the tea," he says.
"We still on for camping?" Cam asks Liam before he can get away. "Lemme know when. I won't bring the ipod. Promise," he adds with a grin to his cousin before looking back at the Alexander. "How about we just stop making generalizations about how educated people are and just remember we're all, you know, /people/?" He pushes his emptied tea away and motions for more. It should be done steeping by now. "You always know the best thing to serve people, Av. It's like your number one talent. That and getting your hair to look good." Unlike Cam's mop.
"Be safe out there, Liam," Avalon chimes to her cousin, "And I'll see you tonight." Cam's tea is nudged towards him, as she looks up to C.B.. "Mm," comes, softly. "Enjoy it. Hopefully it's got the zot that you need in it." She smirks to her brother, a little wrinkle of nose. "We embrace the gifts that we're given, right?," she says with amusement. "Keeps this place afloat."
Liam shrugs a shoulder at Cam's question. "Come help me with this tree and we'll go tonight. Your sister can come meditate out in the fresh air. It will be good for her." He grins a bit. "Assuming your up for some physical labor that is Cam." he inks at Avalon. "And you did say you wanted to learn." He pats the chest pocket on his shirt. "Got my phone with me if you want me. Wont be in range for much of the day though." He follows CB out the door calling a cheerful. "Thanks for the quiche." as he leaves.
C.B. just rolls his eyes at Cam. "It's called humor. You should look it up sometime." And then he's gone. Had to get that last word in.
"Wow," Cam says as he watches CB leave and turns back to his fresh tea. "That guy-- he's a piece of work, innit he?" He does pull out his phone for a second and glances at it before setting it down. "So, you wanna hit the woods tonight? We haven't gone out together in a long time. Just been me and Liam the last few times." A slight pause. "And you uh-- you think that there's really something to this whole dream thing? I just thought it was some bad dreams."
"He ...certainly seems to be. Oh well." There's a bit of gnawing on her lower lip, before she just shakes her head. Avalon finishes her own tea, finally, and glances to the chalkboard behind herself, to check the moon phase. "I should be able to do that, tonight. Will be good, to get back out in the trees. And I do think that there's something, Cam. Too weird, not to be. I'll see what I can find out."
Cam looks rather serious for a moment. Which isn't an expression that sits well on him. He's too jovial and goofy for that. "Yeah," he says quietly. "I thought it was just me. Which isn't weird in and of itself. But being Liam too? That gives me pause. And if that other guy knows something about it like he seems he does, it means it's not just in the family. Something's going on. I hate it, though. When stuff like this goes down and I'm pretty much useless to help with it."
"Well, at the least I know that it's not just something happening to the mystically-touched. Which is something." Something confusing, but something alright. "I'm interested to see if it's hitting outside the family, or if the Alexander is just being... unhelpful. I'll ask Vinnie, she knows a few other people around town. Worth looking at. "
At mention of Vinnie, Cam brightens a little. "So uh... you talk to Vinnie? Because uhm... she wants me to come play one of my new songs for her. You know, see if she likes it and stuff." And so the ridiculous crush rears its ugly head once again! "But she does seem to know a lot of people. Especially for being new to these parts. She just makes friends wherever she goes, doesn't she?"
