Russian folklore contains tales of a maiden of similar name and temperament. The legend describes her as a brave warrior-princess famed for her beauty and cunning at containing a terribly powerful sorcerer from wreaking havoc on the world. When a well-meaning prince releases her captive to do great ill, the sorcerer abducts her, and a great, harrowing adventure begins. Death and trickery separate the lovers, and the eponymous heroine must confront the immortal herself. At the end of the story, the tsar and the princess are reunited, but at what cost? Such enigmatic tales aren't without basis, played out again and again.
Sometime in the autumn of 2017, Zhenya arrived in Fort Brunsett. What's a Russian expat doing in the heart of Vermont? Ask her reasons and she gives any number for what attracted her here. She has family in the area. She followed a dream or fate. Could have something to do with a tall, dark, and handsome man and his fluffy white dog.
Upon swearing her allegiance to the Freehold, she maintains a relatively low profile, though for how long? Word may whisper out of freeholds from Boston to Berlin about a nebulous Vizier attached to the Winter Court, an expert on the invisible world with a taste for spending more time in dreams than awake.
She frequents the Cat-22 Collective as often as she wanders around Tamarack Falls. In January 2018, she assumed ownership of Olympus, a bookstore with an occult slant and some of the best Russian tea around. With the spring solstice on the rise, she emerged as the elect of the Watchers, appropriate for a dreamer.
