Overview

Mortal: Wally West seems to be in perpetual motion; never pausing too long between sentences or even places. It's not the frenetic, neurotic activity of a person high on a drug or who's had too much coffee, but rather a sense that he's bursting with energy that just can't contain itself. From the bright smile, it may well seem that he's high on life. He isn't necessarily rude so much as hasty--there's always something over the horizon to experience, another experience, another way to cherish life in all its blooming colors. Professionally, he's a self-employed courier, available to personally deliver anything you want from one place or person to the other. While an unusual job to have in such a small town, he does travel a lot, and does most of his work in Fort Brunsett, although he prefers to live in Tamarack Falls.

Lost: Often seen proudly wearing the royal blue sash with a four-winged badge marking him as a Sacred Courier over his clothes, Wally seems approachable and happy most of the time. He lacks the haughty attitude of many Fairest and couriers, and although he does have a pleasant and polite persona he puts on in diplomatic missions, amongst friends he'll often lament that he's "too old for that shit". He seems to have made it his personal mission to get to know everyone he can, and help them to realize their own happiness and the changes they can make to improve their lives.

RP Hooks

All:

  • Although he does not often speak of it, Wally has amnesia covering the years from 1998 to 1993, his last years as a mortal, when he was between the ages of 18 and 23. You might know him from that time, since he spent most of his life travelling.
  • He likes to drive and occasionally drag-races outside of town, and is something of a car buff.
  • He's worked as a professional courier for some years now, and in addition to business courier work has done such work as transporting organs for organ donors, delivering things for Make-a-Wish Foundation, and several other specialty jobs that he has volunteered for. His primary work has occurred on the East Coast.
  • He is known to be looking for a pale-skinned short woman who may or may not have dark red hair in her mid-40s, but can't provide more details than that. When he speaks of her, he sounds wistful.

Lost-Specific:

  • If you're from another Freehold or other part of the country, you may know him from the past several years which he has spent as a Sacred Courier or on various diplomatic missions. Did he deliver something to or for you?
  • During his Durance, while he was a servant of the Borrower, one of his jobs was escorting the Borrower's acquisitions from another Keeper either to or from the Borrower's realm.
  • He has also been known to enjoy races and just travelling--from mirror to mirror, along the trods, or through the dreamscape. He doesn't need much of an excuse to go from point A to point B, and may have met you "on the road".
  • As a Dawn Court member, he tends to be upbeat and fun at parties.

Soundtrack

Cake - The Distance

No trophy, no flowers, no flashbulbs, no wine,
He's haunted by something he cannot define.
Bowel-shaking earthquakes of doubt and remorse,
Assail him, impale him with monster-truck force.
In his mind, he's still driving, still making the grade.

Live - Lightning Crashes

Oh now, feel it, coming back again,
Like a rollin' thunder,
Chasing the wind.
Forces pullin' from the center of the earth again,
I can feel it.

Indigo Girls - Prince of Darkness

My place is of the Sun, and
This place is of the Dark, and
I do not feel the romance, and
I will not be a pawn
for the Prince of Darkness any longer.
