The Autumn Court get together for their Spring Edition of Wake The Dead!

Location

Meetinghouse Graveyard

It's a balmy 61 degrees and definitely looks like it's going to rain this evening in the Meetinghouse Graveyard. Ashe had been in the graveyard hiding some things most of the day. And no, they were not bodies. It was time for the Spring Edition of Wake the Dead!

So let's get EXCITED!

The Magister of Nightmares still is dressed like the Witch King of Angmar, minus the big steel crown. So not much can be seen of her. Uvall is hanging from a branch above her. And she's holding a big ass Starbucks cup. Because that helps with the whole scary ass Autumn decor.

Michelle wanders into the graveyard, spotting Uvall before she spots Ashe. Both get a wave. She's in a camel-colored sweater and a pair of jeans, with brown boots, also holding a coffee mug--refillable from home, though. "Hey, Ashe and Uvall. How are you both tonight?"

Fortunately, Kelsey is not entirely candleflame, or else they might have opted to flee inside. Then again, hey, if it's rain, it's usually not snow. The fireflower Fairest is in their why-not-get-hit-by-a-car usual outfit, jeans and a dark blue hoodie half-open over an Earth Day T-shirt, hood up to conceal the faint glow of their hair. The pockets of the hoodie are suspiciously heavy. Whether this is secret armament, arcane and/or merely superstitious charms against ill-intentioned haunts, or snacks, is anybody's guess. They're next in after Michelle, unhurried and close enough to on time.

For last, Ben. He's wearing an expensive looking tailored suit underneath a long trench coat. On his shoulder, a crow made of the purest darkness with bright red eyes and, half hidden behind him, a goblinoid small Hob comes along whispering inaudible things to his master. To the girls at the Graveyard, the Witchtooth offers a discreet nod of his head in a greeting as he puts both hands into his pockets.

"We're fine." Uvall chitters to Michelle. Ashe gives a nod to that, "What he said. Hello, Michelle." she points up. "And thank you guys for coming out." she states in a bit of a raspy tone. Then there's a turn of her head, the blackness there watching Kelsey, "Kelsey." she nods. Then there's a look to Ben, "Ben." she nods in greeting. The woman was...trying to be personable. "For tonight, the game is a bit simpler since we don't have a lot of us. And it's more finder based. I hope that is alright?" she asks them.

Michelle shrugs. "I actually don't think I've played, so please let me know what I might be missing, rules-wise." But she grins. "I'm happy with finding things, though."

Kelsey sweeps one of their gleefully-theatrical bows toward Ashe, straightening up and tugging their hood back into place after. "Boss. And company. I'm with the lady on this one; I might not still have the plastic wrap on anymore, but I'm still not exactly a vintage model, locally. Sorry about that."

"A game?" Ben asks as his wicked yellow eyes glance around the present courtier leaving clear that he doesn't have a clue on what's going on either."What am I missing?"

Ashe gives a nod to that, "Wake the Dead is a game that I created for the local Autumns. It's to keep the Occult senses sharp. Mainly when it comes to occult symbols and things of that nature." the woman states as she moves. "Gravestones have little markings on them. For example, the anchor is a symbol of hope and steadfastness, and eternal life. It is often found on sailors' headstones." she tells them.

There's a click of heels along the path leading to the graveyard as Poppy makes her way along the path; it seems she's had more than enough of winter, and just doesn't really care about stilettos and wet dirt, although at least her boots are leather. The siren is dressed in a pair of black skinny jeans and a tunic-style, long-sleeved shirt in navy blue patterned with what appears to be a skeletal octopus in white. She raises a hand in brief, but cheerful greeting as she joins the group, but otherwise remains silent as she listens to the explanation.

"Lilies, poppies, doves," Kelsey says lightly, glancing toward the nearer headstones as they drift after the Witch Queen. "Granted, when we see electric guitars, that's not usually an occult meaning so much." They extract a hand from a pocket and wave it to Poppy's arrival, pausing to regard her shirt in fascination for a moment before returning to their idle scan.

Michelle waves to Poppy, brightly, even as she listens to Ashe. "Crosses are rather obvious," she says dryly, following along.

Ben too keeps paying attention to Ashe as the other Autumnal explains the game, but when Poppy pops up, he gives her a brief nods of his head in a quiet greeting.

Aaron comes in quietly, keeping to the shadows and the darkness within the meetinghouse. He slipped into the meeting quietly enough, either to not interrupt or to draw attention to himself. He is clothed head to toe, not even showing the bareness of his hands as the are gloved in black leather. The mask on his face hides everything except the black hollow orbs that are the Darkling's eyes.

"Poppy." Ashe greets the woman. There's a smile in her voice, even if you can't see through the black robes and stuff. "Welcome, we're just getting started. Also...this is just a bit of fun...and a chance to socialize for us. Because the gods know I need to get out of the house." she muses. Then she nods to Kelsey and Michelle, "Yes, like that." she tells them. Then her head turns slowly as Aaron arrives and there's a nod, "Aaron." she dips her head to him. "Just in time." she adds.

Poppy smirks at Kelsey's comment about guitars, then grins at Michelle's dry remark before smiling warmly at Ashe. "Sounds like fun." A sly look, then she asks, likely teasingly, "So is a dick on a gravestone just a dick?" Aaron's appearance is met with a nod and another sharp grin - possibly for the Darkling's covered state. On the other hand, she might have a sense as to the reason for his current mode of dress.

"It's a dick or the person buried there was an asshole." Ashe states.

Michelle grins over at Aaron, giving a wave, before snickering at Poppy's words. "Is a penis sometimes just a penis?" And then Ashe replies, and Michelle falls out laughing.

Kelsey clasps hands to their chest and pretends to swoon as well, with a tremendously exaggerated sigh. "Ladies," they say, "I adore you." And then goes back to watching the gravestones -- and the graves between them -- then blinking at Aaron's barely-recognizable state. Maybe Ashe is setting a fashion trend.

Ben turns his face to look at a fully covered Aaron. To the man he gives just the same greeting as he gave to the other Autumnals. A discreet nod of his head before turning back to pay attention at the conversation going on with mild interest. The joke about penises is caught, but the ogre doesn't smile. Instead, he just observes the other courtiers reactions and listen their comments.

Ashe moves closer to Aaron as they walk, "Alright Autumns, there's five symbols this evening. The symbol for Rebirth. The symbol for Change and Transformation. The symbol for Cunning and Intelligence. The symbol of Death and Eternal Sleep. And lastly, the symbol for Eternity and Immortality." she states. "I as always don't go with you all. Uvall will be keeping track of everyone. There's some guidance out there as well." she tells them.

Poppy smirks at Ashe's comment about dicks, opalescent eyes gleaming, but holds her peace on whatever further thought she may have had, instead remaining silent to listen to the instructions with a thoughtful expression. Nodding, she starts moving about the graveyard, peering idly at the gravestones and humming absently under her breath. Is it Nightmare Before Christmas? Might be. It takes her a little bit, but she finally seems to locate something, offering a cheerfully sing-song, "I found a butterfly!"

Aaron gives nods silently and without much voice to greet familiar faces. He does nod in agreement to the notion that sometimes a penis drawn is just that. When the game commences he makes his way to the various gravestones, looking for one that stands out to him the most. "Cunning...and....intelligence," he says in a raspy voice, like a throat that is raw and non-Aaron. He coughs a bit, getting the airways to open. He finds a gravestone, stands close to it, placing a hand on the symbol that catches his eyes. "Fox," is all he offers in identification.

Kelsey continues their drifting, finally coming up against a relatively recent marker, flat to the ground rather than carved upward, black stone still holding enough of its polish to have been within the last couple of decades. Their laugh rings out, albeit a little more quietly than usual given where they are. "Dragonfly and a dick," they report. "Figurative rather than literal. Change, transformation, and being a bastard to attract the actual species they're invoking." They give the gravestone a pat and inform it, "You have my admiration," before straightening up.

Michelle looks around, walking, then finds what she's looking for a few markers away from Aaron. She blinks at not-his-voice, before calling out, "The poppy; eternal sleep, death, and peace." And she smiles to the siren that shares its name.

Ashe stands in front of one of the above ground masoleums and there's a tall slender man in a suit that seems to step out from behind a column near her and touches her shoulder gently to make her aware of her presence. Most know Garrett Bonneville. "And our last symbol of the night, is a star." he states in his gentle tone as he touches the door behind him. Then he stands at a relaxed attention as he looks to the others and gives a nod of greeting.

Ashe gives a grin to her former Assistant Librarian and her friend and there's a nod to him, "Garrett, it's nice to see you darling." she tells him. Then she gives the others a grin, "Everyone found the correct symbols. Very well done. Very keen on the occult knowledge." she nods to this.

It pleases the Witch King!

"Alright, now we go inside and get food and drinks and talk before it starts raining." she tells them with a laugh as she turns and heads back up the path with Garrett. There's a look to Aaron though as well.

"Right, that would be Rebirth," the siren clarifies, then nods at Aaron before grinning at Kelsey's comment about dicks, eyes twinkling. Michelle's statement about poppies is rewarded with another sharp grin. "Promise I don't always fucking kill people," Poppy offers with a wink. Looking towards Ashe and now Garrett, she smiles, then nods cheerfully at the mention of food, starting after the pair, humming idly again.

Michelle catches up to Poppy and Kelsey after a few moments, grinning. "Hey," she says. "Sorry about Sunday. We should try to reschedule!" The mention of drinks has her happy. She's thirsty!

Aaron offers a nod to Garrett in greeting. As the game comes to a close, and the talk of socializing his next to commence, Aaron is hesitant a moment. Still standing by the fox-marked grave. Uncertainty skirts pass his eyes in thought.

"Garrett if you'll take the others in." Ashe offers as she waves them ahead. She herself turns and heads back to Aaron.

Kelsey trails along in more or less Kelsey and Michelle's vicinity, stray strands of hair glimmering ever more visibly at the darkness gathers. "We should," they agree. "Some things just need to happen. Whether or not Poppy happens to feel like murder at the time." They flash another of their brilliant grins toward her, which turns their head enough to catch Aaron's ... not moving. They hesitate. But Ashe has that in hand, and they turn away and accompany the others inside.

Poppy grins at Michelle. "Shit happens; no worries," she reassures the other woman, then glances briefly back towards Aaron, tilting her head and hesitating for a moment as well, at least until Ashe turns back towards the Darkling. Glancing back towards Kelsey, she grins. "I typically leave that shit to other people nowadays," she says wryly, slipping inside.
