After things have cooled down Olivia goes out back to see what she can find. Part of Plot:Olivia's Crucible.

Location

Lakeside Lodge

After that last blow up and rush of emotion Weaver remains inside the house. When Velvet spoke of investigating outside he instead wished to make a few calls, and see what anyone may have seen while there. While Weaver's roaring may have drawn a bit of undue attention there don't appear to be any prying eyes this faraway. The sky looks as if the clouds may burst from the rain they hold within, and pour down on Fort Brunsett once more.

Although Velvet is the Queen of keeping her composure and keep all of her emotions tightly bottled up, even she has a breaking point. She's passed that point, and once she's sure that Wewaver isn't going to go charging out into town and slaughtering people, she has to get away from the roaring and the tears so that she can re-bottle herself back up. There's work to be done and getting emotional isn't going to help with that. She runs out towards the yard, heaving a breath as her hands lift to scrub her face. "FuckfuckFUCK," she screams into her palms.

Most people wouldn't see it. Quite obviously no one else did. It takes Velvet only a few seconds to find the spot. A very, very faint hint of Sergio's usually pungent cologne. The only problem with where she smells is that this isn't where his body was buried. No, he was found much further away in a shallow grave. From what Weaver had said to Velvet before her leaving, the last person actually seen with Sergio was Olivia. The former was found dead and buried in the backyard, and the woman taken at some point.

Sergio's body had already been collected, but Weaver gave a simple enough explanation of what it looked like. A single strike, against a Champion no less. A single stab, and the blade went through his chest and spine to rip him from his mortal coil. As best as can be remembered from what was talked about, whoemever did so would have had to be fairly tall in their own right. Alongside even that and the faint smells of everyone else that passes through, one was unlike the others. Foreign. Strange. A hint of smoke and fire amid something else that can't quite be named.

Velvet goes very still as she catches the sen, her eyes narrowing for a long moment as she stares towards the area where the scents are coming from. Slowly, she starts to move in that direction, nostrils flaring as she traces back exactly where Sergio's scent originates, checking the ground and the trees around that spot. That other scent is noted too, looking to see if she can scent what direction it went in.

Sergio arrived by truck, and an expensive one at that. From the driveway to the back he went, sitting patiently for Weaver to come outside. He went to go speak with Olivia, and as best as Velvet can tell that's where his blood was spilled. No such pain was beset upon Olivia, at least far as Velvet can see and smell. Who or whatever snatched her up had to be strong enough to lift her compeltely off her feet, and through all of this dispatch Sergio and make away with her without anyone being the wiser.

Horror rides through Velvet's body as she traces the sccents, putting together what she thinks might have happened. Whatever it was must have gotten the jump on Sergio, because otherwise there would have been a fight. Victor's aren't exactly known for going down quietly. Swift and clean. Like she would have done. She leans into the scents in the grass, trying to trace back where this person and Olivia's scent meet up and then begin to move.

The strang burnt scent is still a mystery, but simple enough to follow. It leads from where Olivia's disappears and over the place where Sergio was buried. From there it moves around the yard until it returns back to where it once was. Next it leads right to the house, but not inside. Whomever it was put their hand on the wall here, and then the scent is going. It doesn't go inside of their home, no, but it does go past the threshold. That scent, though. She's smelled it before. On Vanessa, and on each one of the people sent after the Utridges and Co.

"Iron Dragon." The name comes growling out of Velvet's lips as she pauses at the wall where the scent moved to the threshold of the house. She can't be sure, of course. But with that burnt scent and the coincidence of it all, she figures that it's a fairly safe bet. If he's responsible for what happened to Olivia? It doesn't matter what sort of forgiveness Weaver wants for him, he's going to die.

Going back and forth through the door, and even the rest of the house reveals the same thing. Olivia's kidnapper went through the door. He had to have, but his scent isn't anywhere in the house. Not a single thing or a single object. Some form of magic is the best she can deduce from everything, but the how remains a mystery. As she keeps coming and going Weaver stares at her, standing now as he does so. "Do you need some air, or don't you?"

Velvet snarls as she follows the scent to where it stops. In and out. She pauses when she hears Weaver's voice, looking back towards him with a tilt of her head. "The Iron Dragon," she growls, her voice ethereal for a moment, demonic. Her natural voice without the honey she laces in to sweeten it. "Does he smell-- burnt? Licked with fire?"

"All of us do." Us? He's never mentioned more, but nods. "There's a good fifteen of us that I know of, all a bit different." Weaver crosses his arm, just a bit more guarded now. "Please do not tell me that he's behind this. He's a piece of shit, sure, but even he won't just kidnap some fucker he doesn't know. He's not that fucking stupid. He can't be."

"The scent was on Vanessa, the Assassin, the others that came to kill us that night. That scent was here. Killed Sergio and took Olivia. I haven't smelled him before, so I cannot say for sure. But it's one of the fifteen, and with that scent being on all of the assassins, it stands to reason that he is maybe not that stupid, but he is that evil," Velvet deduces.

Weaver's eyes search her. Scrutinizing her every movement. It had to be a lie. He hoped it wasn't a lie. Except it's the truth, and something ni him breaks again. His eye twitches, but he reamins calm. Unnervingly so. "Alright. I want answers, and after the he dies." Weaver walks forward, a hand placed on Velvet's shoulder. "He may live for a few hours longer than you would like, but I need to know some things. Then we feed him to Mkaz and Fido at the sime time and at different ends."

"He took a Victor down in a single pierce. If we have the chance to put him down, we need to do so, regardless of what answers he may have to give. I won't let him get the chance to kill you just because we need answers. Period." There's no debating that with her. "He's been in the house, through the house... something. I can't place the magic. His scent is no where, but I can he moved through. Sound familiar?

"I'm going to talk to him, Velvet," Weaver responds while drawing his hand back. "If not, you'll have to kill me. If everything you said and think is true, he's going to try to kill you before he tries to kill me. I care about what he's done, and I care about what he aims to do. I also want to speak to him. I don't know what kinda magic you're talking about, but I'm not like him. He doesn't know all I can do, either. I do not regularly show what I can and am capable to many if any."

"If he comes after me, I'm killing him," Velvet tells Weaver point blank. "If he comes after you, I am killing him. If you can get him to sit and talk, that's great. I'll wait until you're finished. But if he comes after us first, he will die." She gives a little shrug. "I'm going to see if I can follow Olivia's scent now. Watch for assassins while I'm gone."

Weaver nods, any mirth in his demeanor obliterated at this point. He comes fowrard again, to place his hands on her shoulders, and the pulls her in for a hug. "You better not get hurt while you're out there. I've killed enough people as it is, and at this point we're spoiling the beasts." WHile they weren't in the room the bark from Fido is response enough. "If you find her or anyone with her, kill them. We are not taking chances until she's safe."
