Family Fretting

No more going out into the field and getting yourself hurt. I'm not watching you almost die again. I think that's reasonable. Don't you think that's reasonable? As the person that has to keep healing him?

Participants

Dani Utridge, Velvet, Weaver Utridge

13 July, 2018

Dani comes by the lodge, and heals up her nephew.

Location

Lakeside Lodge

Yesterday Weaver had disappeared to somewhere, and didn't show back up until an hour ago. Instead of going straight inside after parking he went straight to the deck. He's laid out in a lawn chair with a beer in hand and is currently scratching Fido, the massive canine hedgebeast, with his other hand. He's in a dress shirt, dress pants, and black socks. His shoes and suit jacket are tossed to the side while he starts singing a song, from the sound of it it's one of Olivia's before she came back from New York.

Dani has been looking, but not terribly hard. In truth, by this point she has gotten much of the original work she'd planned for Weaver done by herself, but there's the principle of the thing to consider... oh, and all the human suffering that necessitates healing. That too... Not entirely sure what she's walked in upon, she hesitates briefly, then shrugs, "You... Hiya!" A little juxtaposition to random curiosity coupled with cheerfulness. "Heard you got kinda maimed again."

Velvet is puttering about the house for right now. She's feeling a lot better thanks to Dani's healing. Hearing Dani and knowing that Weaver is out on the deck, the woman grabs a warm beer and a chilled glass of wine. She delivers the beer to Weaver and the wine to Dani with a nod. "Don't mind me," she murmurs, slipping back inside. Close enough to hear. But really, that's anywhere for her.

"I didn't get maimed!" he exclaims, and then immediately winces in pain. "Hey, Aunt Dani. I may have gotten kinda hurt, but it isn't that bad." No matter how well he lies it's obvious that it isn't good. "How have things been going around town? Any things you've missed since getting back? ANything new?"

The faun grins just a tad and remarks, "Hush," before stepping close. She doesn't really need to inspect a wound to do anything about it, and while there's sort of a strong temptation to do so anyway, she rather just gets down to it, getting kinda handsy as she brushes hands across a shoulder, an arm, with little apparent reason to the touches, but warmth seems to flow from the touch and suffice Weaver in a rush of renewal and growth. While Dani doesn't close her eyes in a wince, the process is obviously draining to some degree as she finally slumps back away, rolling her shoulders and reaching out behind herself in a long stretch. "You know... I don't think I've healed someone so much in such a short stretch before."

Weaver grunts in disapproval when she says to hush, but there's not much he can do to fight against it in his current state. He does look her over when she starts getting touchy, a gaze briefly shot to Velvet. When it's all done and he's feeling better he sits up. He sets his beer down, knocking it over in the process, and leaving it for Fido to lap up. That's a problem that can just be dealt with later. "Well shit," he says while streatching out. He lets out a loud, sonorous roar that comes with a plume of smoke and acid. Luckily he points his maw away from the ladies when doing so. "Jesus tittyfucking Christ I feel good. Shit, thanks." Weaver's grinning like a mad man, his usual bravado hastily returning.

"Good!" Dani responds with a relieved sigh, still somewhere mid-stretch as she steps clear, but she recovers soon enough, and the grin returns, "Actually, I'd originally come looking for someone to help with some heavy lifting, you know... Those glass panels arrived at the hotel yesterday and I could use someone to help haul them into the hedge for me," It's not exactly a request, more a strongly gentle suggestion. "You're feeling good, you say?"

"Oh good. You look a lot better. As soon as you're done helping your Aunt move stuff, I'm going to kick your ass." Velvet returns to the group, holding her own wine glass cupped in her palm as she glances between the pair. "No more going out into the field and getting yourself hurt. I'm not watching you almost die again. I think that's reasonable." She glances towards Dani. "Don't you think that's reasonable? As the person that has to keep healing him?"

"Oh, oh. Oh no I'm still in pain." He reaches for his back, and steadily sits back to his chair. Sweat drops from his brow, and he shakes his head. "I don't know about that. I think I'm gonna need a while to recover. Maybe a few more weeks." While the display might've worked on a stranger, both women know Weaver well enough to know he's faking. Eventually he does relent befoer things get bad, and nods. "I can do that, yeah, but how big is this stuff?"

Dani nods solemnly to Velvet, "The healing is somewhat stressful, as I think about it..." The theatrics draw a cheerful twitter from her as she lightly taps one hoof in a rhythmic little pattern. "Oh, the crates are a couple hundred pounds, I guess, but they'll have to be broken down to get through the doorway anyway, so not too bad," a pause, "Ummm, you might should wear something warm, though. It's rather chilly on the other side," and a small shake of her head, adding more to herself than the two near, "Though I guess I'd not need a greenhouse if that wasn't the case. Still, I'm rather happy with the spot. A lovely view." And now she may as well be babbling...

Velvet lifts her glass in cheers to Dani's agreement, but narrows her eyes as Weaver avoids the topic of conversation she just brought up. Her head shakes, ponytail whipping as she turns back around and moves back into the house.

"Yes, it's reasonable" he concedes to Velvet. Weaver sighs, face consumed in smoke for a beat. "A few hundred pounds doesn't sound that bad. Just need a gate big enough to move it through. I can probably set it in, too. I ain't too much of a crafter, but I'll be happy to help Dani. I owe it to you. Not just for the healing, but..." His voice trails off as he gets back up from his seat to get the satyress a one-armed hug, usually something rare of him to initiate contact. "Just say when and I'll be thjere."

Dani squeaks a bit as she's embraced, but she's quite comfortable with contact, and she jumps into it, returning a one-arm hug with a two armed hug and a little butting of her horns into Weaver's chest, though she springs back soon enough with a laugh and a small shrug, "Don't worry about it. I've got some things growing now, but it'll take far less effort with the panels in place," more babbling and another grin flashed between the two. "I'm sure I'll figure out what I'm doing with myself someday..."
