Czcibor Joins The Greenies

"How do you join?"

Participants

Czcibor, Isolde

2017.10.25

Czcibor comes in search of Isolde at the Greengarden.

Location

OT01

It seems that Vermont had been hanging on to Summer for a few days longer than the rest of the states, but the temperature has dropped down to the mid sixties and it's overcast. So it's not as chilly as it could be. Isolde is in the main Greenhouse dressed in black scrubs that have little pumpkins all over them and a black zip up hoodie over them. The man that is walking with her and taking notes is dressed completely the opposite, a three piece suit and looking quite dapper. Doctors don't get much time to dress up in the real world. No matter what those tv shows tell you.

There's a warm wind smelling of roses, gunmetal, and burning sage that pushes open the door and gusts briefly through the greenhouse-- it settles, then almost seems to tiptoe out away from Isolde and her assistant.

A long moment later, a solder-scarred metal man in a rumpled white linen suit and birkenstocks -- one foot metal, one foot elaborately carved wood -- walks somewhat sheepishly through the door and calls out, voice resonant and warm, accent mostly Polish, "Hello? I'm looking for Isolde..."

Isolde's nose sniffs a bit at the scent. Maybe she was just trying to make sure her donuts didn't actually grow legs and walk back towards the greenhouse. That would be fun to explain. Right? There's pink and lavender flowers that spring up in her wake as she makes her way closer to the doors, "I'm Isolde." she offers a wave to Czcibor. "And this is Roderick Cranston. A dear friend to us." she states with a smile. "What can we help you with today?" she asks him.

The stranger gives Roderick Cranston an assessing glance, then nods cheerfully. He sketches a self-amused and courtly bow. "Captain Kowal, Zinnsoldat der Landeswehr. Ashe Whelan told me you'd be pleased there was another healer sworn to the freehold; I arrived less than a week ago." He sticks his hands in his pockets and stands casually, his weight on the metal foot rather than the wooden, and gives them both a lopsided smile. "I'm not much of a gardener, but I'm a combat medic and give Spring's blessings freely. Do you have protocols for joining your organization?"

Isolde gives a dip of her head to Czcibor, "It's nice to meet you, Captain Kowal, I heard that you'd joined the Freehold via the grapevine." she tells him with a smile. "And I'm always excited to hear there are more healers. We can always use more hands." she admits. Then she looks to him and there's a smile to what he says, "You don't have to be an expert gardener, no." she shakes her head to that. "We just expect there to be some knowledge of hedge and goblin fruits at the end of the recruitment period. Is that alright?" she asks him. Then there's a soft shake of her head, "Just the want to join really." she tells him.

"Oh that's fine," the Captain says, lifting his hands, eyebrows up. "Considering the first day I got here, I got ugly drunk off some goblin fruit concoction, it would be really useful to learn more about them. I just don't know much about them because it's not my area of expertise, and I've been Spring so long, I usually just rely on the contracts." His hands go back in his pockets and one of them emerges again, pulling out a card with the phone number scratched out and a new one penned in; this, he steps forward to hand over. "I'm currently at the Schoolhouse Apartments, but when my oathmate arrives I may move. I'll let you know where to find me thereafter."

Isolde quirks an eyebrow up at that and there's an amused smile that alights her features, "Something tells me that a certain Darkling had something to do with that." she muses. "And we can help with that. Being in the Greenies means that you can learn as you go along as well. So it's fun." she admits. She slips a hand into her pocket and pulls a card out. There's a few numbers, the top being personal cell, "I don't give out the hospital cell to the Freehold because I generally am easier to catch on my personal one for you guys." she admits. "But, if I can't be reached on my personal number, you can call the hospital and ask for me." she states as she offers him the card.

"Excellent," says the toy soldier as he takes the card, scans it, and pockets it in turn with a firm nod. "If something's going down, I'll make myself more available than usual." He glances over his shoulder. "Mmm. A girl called Verily wanted to meet you too; I'll give her your contact information, if that's all right?"

Isolde gives a smile to that, "You don't have to make your schedule fit us. We have a few healers about and I pick up a lot of slack given I'm the Grandmaster, but, I'm happy to have more around. Means I can assign more capable hands to Harvestmen groups and such." she tells him. Then there's a curious look to him, "The name is not familiar, but of course, give her my number and I'll see about meeting up with her." she nods to that.

"Will do! I'll be giving them my information too," the Captain says cheerily. And then he nods, gaze softening a little around the edges. "Thank you. I appreciate that very much." He glances at his watch, then, and gives Roderick an apologetic glance for not being more engaging, then addresses Isolde again: "I have to go meet my friend in Barre in about two hours and have to get some things together first, so I'll have to take my leave-- but it was good to meet you. I'm sure we'll be in touch." Then just like that, with a flare of his mantle, the metal man dissolves into the gust of wind that had initially pushed the door open; the scents of burning sage and roses and gunmetal follow him out.
