FB14 - Fort Brunsett - Hart Pond
Surrounded by miles of, by now, relatively domesticated forest, the Hart Pond area is a quiet place, safe, excepting the occasional herd of deer or the presence of wandering bears. Bird feeders are kept far from houses. Just in case.
A single road leads out around the pond, looping around the banks to provide access for the comfortable homes built there. The lots are smaller by the pond itself, but more land is available to homes the farther out along side streets straggling into the forest in a lazy sprawl of suburban values. There are no stores, no shops, and even new building requires permits thanks to wildlife conservation efforts in the region.
The local rangers maintain a small office set back from the pond's public shore, often seen patrolling the area, rescuing animals or testing the water.
