EW02 - Wilderness - Dead Growth
Chemicals from the mine have had a disastrous effect upon much of the local plantlife, the oldest of which, the least resilient, has still not recovered, despite the closure being history for over sixty years. Dead trunks outnumber the living in this section of the woods, and, unlike other treefalls on forested roads, while effort has been made to hack the trunks and haul them off beside the trail, the wood has not been touched. Certain old-growth trunks could easily have granted a full cord and a half, were they used before the rot set in.
The road itself bends south, leading up the slope at a slight angle to reach the mine at fault.
