Overview
Katherine Anne Garreau is a long-time Tam valley resident, albeit a somewhat obscure one. A vaguely-placed cousin to two of the town's leading families, the Garreau and Lefevre, she has both deep ties to the area and yet few well-established friends and a spotty work history of odd jobs usually connected to her relatives. Outwardly skittish and odd, she doesn't fall far from the Garreau tree in demeanor, though she shies away from most family functions and most local 'society' events.
Of course, to members of the Fate's Harvest freehold, her story takes on a few further nuances that explain some of its oddity. An Autumn Darkling who nonetheless displays her former Keeper's fondness for the bestial, the 'Black Kat' has been resident of the area since well before the freehold's founding, probably for years, possibly for decades, though her appearance seems contrary to an advanced age. Living in a small hut carved in the local Hedge, she has taken up the attitude, talents, and trappings of a traditional witch or soothsayer, and joined the Watchers when she pledged herself to the newly formed freehold. While flighty and cautious of disposition, she is friendly to those she warms up to and generally eager to offer advice, aid or counsel where she can.

- Long-Time Local - Kat has lived in the area her whole life, which spans more time than her appearance might let on. There's good odds she could have met any other long term resident, casually or otherwise.
- Changeling - Yep! As a Truefriend, she has a significantly feline appearance suggesting strong Wyrd influence.
- Garreau - She is one, although asking anyone about her precise heritage may invoke a dubious recitation of Great Aunts, many times removed cousins, and so on.
- Lefevre-ish - She has family goodwill with this allied clan, and claims a Lefevre maternal ancestor several generations back.
- Watcher - A master of Omen-reading and general diviner, she serves the Freehold in this capacity and is generally happy to perform readings or grant blessings of fortune to those who seek her out.
- Autumn Court - Endlessly cautious, Kat embraces Fear as a source of wisdom and prophetic omen as the language in which this knowledge is delivered.
