Bishopric of Blackbirds

Wandering fellowship, often regarded as a mixed omen, who seek to aid all other changelings, in exchange for favors.

Joining

The changeling can use membership to pay off a pledged debt to a Bishop. This is the most common. Otherwise, those who wish to join are generally allowed. The current Bishops discuss it, and if necessary, will make him deserve membership.

Mien

They all have a single bird pendant hammered out of tin and painted black, and they're expected to wear it in sight. The mien change is subtle at first, with feathers, generally black and brown. Eyes can become black and birdlike, and feet may become birdlike as well. At higher wyrd, they drop many feathers that even humans can find.

Background

Three types are common: those who find comfort in feeling righteous/needed, those who want to do good, and those who have hit the bottom and climbed up.

Organization

When they gather, it's in councils that are sometimes called synods to discuss freehold matters.

Privileges

Aspersorium Token (2 dots)
This is a small container, generally a cup. Water is put inside and the changeling can 'bless' the water to flick or sprinkle on another's brow, which helps restore sanity/erase derangements for a scene. Any mild-level derangements are gone for the remainder of the scene, and severe derangements are downgraded to their milder counterparts (i.e. Paranoia becomes Suspicion). The afflicted person gains +1 to Perception rolls for the rest of the day.

Listening Ear (HR)
The Bishop is skilled at deescalating tense situations and calming roused emotions. Gain +2 on rolls related to resisting intimidation by mentally unstable people while working with them, and +2 while persuading someone to calm down. Useful in hostage situations.
