Little Shadow goes after the spirit The Stag of the Bridge.

Location

Stagbridge, Stag Run Farms

Just enough time has passed that the sun is now making its true appearance. However, much of its luminescence is kept at bay by those clouds haning high above. After she parks out near the bridge there's nary a soul to be found. The wind is still, and the only sound heard for miles is the steady flow of the river. Currently, the Fairest is by herself unless she wishes the company of the occasional passing bird.

Ashe parked the car and listened to Uvall making complaints in her ear again. The bat is poked again and remains hidden in the fall of her hair, "Shush. We've got work to do." she mutters to the hedge beast. She makes her way up to the bridge and there's a bit of a moment taken to listen to the river.

The path is difficult to make out. Traffic has muddled and muddied any true signs of prints. However, there's something odd about the railing. They look like something took an overlarge pole to them, but a cursory glance betrays otherwise. Something hit and rubbed into the railing,as Stags are wont to do, and then marched off east. From here there's sight of Stag Run Farms, and the fields that surround the nearby creek.

Ashe's eyes find the trail and there's a few moments of hesitation as she starts to follow it. Her eyes find where something brushed against the rail and she reaches out to touch it, "It looks like it rammed it, doesn't it?" she asks the bat in her hair. He answers her by nipping the back of her neck, "Wanna go home. Sleep. The Oaf is more sane than you are. Gonna tell him." the bat squeaks.

It's quite a walk from one end of the bridge from the other. However, at the other side they can see overlarge hooves in the mud, dirt, and grass. The creature ventured near the farms, although there don't appear to be any signs of distress or danger. A pair of mean are discussing things near the road, and when Ashe is in sight they both make not of her while still talking.

A pair of mean are discussing things near the road, and when Ashe is in sight they both make not of her while still talking. Off to the side the hooves go, but then it's into the highgrass and the farmlands.

Ashe follows the trail along and when the men come into view there's a nod to them. She then goes about her business down the trail where the hoove prints go. Because she was here for one reason and that was for the Lord of Stagbridge.

She's at least headed in the right way. The impressions of the hooves are hard to miss. Each print one after the other until it leads to the creek. The spirit can be found here, and in its wake bits of destroyed flora. It clearly doesn't care too much for hiding, but the overlarge stag of stone is enjoying a drink of water on this early morning.

Ashe follows carefully down the path of the stag. She was being cautious, making sure that she doesn't step on something that doesn't want to be stepped on. When she sees the big stone stag she stops, observing quietly for a moment.

The ephemeral buck turns around to see what's disturbing his reverie of the material world. To him she looks no different than a normal human, and grunts rather loudly at the new face. It lowers its head, although it's clearly not a sound of respect. It grunts out something far too alien to understand, and then begins charging right away at the Shadowsoul.

Ashe doesn't keep still for long when the buck turns and starts to charge. Nooooope. She drives a fist into the black apple pendant around her throat and bleeds off a glamour in the process of moving, because she was not getting hit by anything stone today.

She may be trying to dodge, but the buck clearly gives no fucks. There's a human out here, and it needs to go byebye. Something about Ashe's presence sets it off, and causes it to stumble. Almost. It keeps going, until it's just about to ram straight into Ashe. However, it narrowly misses her, and doubles back around to charge again.

Ashe lets out a growl when the thing almost bowls her over. "Hey now. I just wanna talk." she snaps out. And maybe hurt you a little! "You've been giving some people some issues." she grumbles out.

It takes a bit, but it eventually rights itself. The woman may be its bane, but it's human. Clearly just something in error and different about the skin world. It doesn't look the slightest bit bothered by missing the first time, and rushes back at Ashe in an attempt to bust open her general area.

Ashe gives another growl when the buck rounds again, "Go back to where you came from you big hunk of rock." she tells it in a hiss. She wasn't sure what it was going to take to get it to find it's way back into the other realm, but she was going to find something.

The stony stag is trying his damndedest to get out of Dodge. Whatever Ashe is having, he wants none of it. After that next miss he keeps going, and it looks like he's headed for thecity. He takes a moment to look behind him, and rapidly puts hoof to ground during his egress.

Ashe's feet are moving before her brain can really tell her not to. There's a bit of a moment where she balls up her fist and charges the rock stag. Her pendant immediately unclenches from her skin, sending red rivlets down the front of her shirt as she goes after the thing. Her fist connects with the back of the stag, which means she may as well just hit it in the ass now.

Well, that stings. Nothing says fuck this like a punch right in the ass that burns away what amounts to your flesh. Just nope. The spirit banks right, and keeps its eyes on Ashe. With one final glance it kicks into overdrive.

"Stay still you stone fucker!" Ashe snaps as she tries to take another swing at the things rump. Oh the humiliation when she misses it. "You aren't getting away!" she hisses at it.

The Stag of the Bridge pays nary a mind to the woman behind him, and keeps his gaze forward. It's ducking between the trees, and shows far too much grace for as big as it is. Such is the way of the wilds, and right now Ashe is a predator.

Ashe curses in Gaelic after the damn stag. Her face is flushed in anger and her stitches pull as she bares her teeth at the thing. She wasn't going to be able to catch it today. Or if she does, she's going to beat the ass off of it.

She's missed the stag twice now. Weight against another attack it opts instead to try taking her out again. It hop steps, and before it even land has already turned upon her. With a snort it charges ahead, and rams its rack into Ashe.

Ashe takes the hit from the stone rack and there's a bit of a gasp that escapes the woman. This is why she wasn't a hand to hand combatant. But she balls up her fist again and socks the stag right in the side of the face as hard as her frame will let her.

It hurts. God damn does it hurt. It bleats in pain as more and more of it leaves the physical plane. However, it won't leave. It can't leave. This place is a beautiful paradise of essence, and this guardian of it needs to die. It charges at her again, and despite losing much of itself in the process it doesn't look to be giving up just yet.

Ashe is getting bloodier by the second. Thank god she's got hedge fruit packed away. The woman gives it another slug and there's a bit of a curse as her knuckle busts open, "Mother!" she growls.

The stag may have had a change of heart. It may not die with its destruction, but being knocked out, as it were, is not the best of feelings. So it returns to its escape, occasionally shooting his hollow, black gaze at Ashe as it runs for the actual hills on the horizon.

Ashe seems to sense that this fucker is going to run and she punches it right on it's flank again. Taking out another chunk of it. Her hands are bloody from hitting the rock. "I'll be seeing you again..." she breathes out as she stops and places her hands on her hips, trying to get her breath and some of her will back.

The stag, as beat up as it is, can no longer suffer Ashe's violence. It convulses and in the blink of an eye explodes into ephemera. Small, harmless chunks of grantie fly into the air, and a few bits of it pelt Ashe and her chiropteran friend. When it all ends there's nothing more than a gust a wind, and the early morning wakings of the animals on the farm.

When the stag covulses, Ashe straightens a bit. When it explodes and she is pelted with bits of granite she just mutters as she starts to pick it out of her hair. She starts to collect parts of the granite, "Gonna put you on a high fucking shelf in the library..." she continues to mutter as she bags the evidence.
