Overview

Hazel is a local, and it's rumored she was born to one of the important local families, though you wouldn't know it now; her Durance aged her greatly, and that's driven her to take a new name. She came back before the formation of Fate's Harvest freehold, and for a time was a Dawn courtier who cared little about freeholds and focused mainly on her motley.

Then every single one of her motley members disappeared. That produced a sea-change in Hazel, who is now extremely pro-freehold, and is a minor member of the Coldest Court, having lost her hope in favor of sadness when she lost yet another family. Hazel doesn't often leave her work -- the Crossroads Cafe, a diner whose comfort food has earned her some minor renown --but its space welcomes other Lost.

RP Hooks

  • Crossroads - Hazel's restaurant. She's always hiring, and the prices are reasonable for good cheap eats.
  • Hope Turned Sadness - While Hazel began as a Dawn Courtier (Dawn Goodwill 1), the loss of those she escaped Arcadia with has driven her to change, and she's been a minor member of the Winter Court (Mantle 1) for a short time.
  • Snoopy - Waitresses, like bartenders, are talkers. Hazel loves people, even if, like many Wizened, she's on the awkward side. Hazel pays attention to those around her, sometimes too much.

Contacts

  • Name - You can list people your character knows here.
  • Name - It could be someone they find useful, someone they care about.
  • Name - It could be someone they loathe, an adversary or rival.

Soundtrack

Sara Bareilles - She Used to Be Mine

It's not simple to say
That most days I don't recognize me
That these shoes and this apron
That place and its patrons
Have taken more than I gave them
It's not easy to know
I'm not anything like I used be, although it's true
I was never attention's sweet center
I still remember that girl

Don Williams - Maggie's Dream

And she relies upon the jukebox on the lonely afternoon
When the business starts to slow down
She plays the saddest tunes
And she stares off down the highway
And she wonders where it goes
Nobody to go home to
And it's almost time to close

The Monkees - Daydream Believer

Cheer up, sleepy Jean,
oh, what can it mean.
To a daydream believer and a homecoming queen?
