High Wyrd Blessing Ideas

If you've got some ideas for High Wyrd Blessings for kiths which don't currently have them, lemme know!

Stonebones

How could you twink their armor bonuses? Is it too ridiculous at high wyrd?

It does seem overpowered, considering the number of folks likely to be at higher Wyrd levels. Even at Wyrd 5, you're looking at 2 armor naturally and +5 armor for one scene, or pretty much any battle. Particularly if this can stack with actual armor? Seems super easy to twink out, even for someone not particularly combat-savvey like me. I think the passive blessing isn't bad, but the active one could easily be abused. I suck at combat gear things though, so I don't have any productive suggestions for fixing it. -Soleil

  • Re: Stacking: The original by-the-book write-up had some mention to it not stacking with 'natural armor.' But I could find absolutely ZERO reference to what WoD defines as 'natural armor' in any of the books. So, I removed that language, since it was entirely unclear and unhelpful. If anyone can find that definition in any of the books, I'll be grateful!! -Rainier

Gameplayer

Has anyone got any suggestion for a better active blessing than insta-winning a game?

Perhaps some kind of 'luck' magic trick, similar to the goblin contract Luck for Fate, or a low/mid level luck magic like the Thaums have?-Soleil

  • My read of Gameplayers is that there ought to be a balance between luck and skill, so I'd like to avoid going full luck. Reading through the thaum material has got my brain working, though. Probably something to boost Wits-based dice pools or to tip luck in their favor in particular circumstances. Back with fully formed idea later. -Rainier

Razorhand

Is there any way to grievously abuse the active bonus which causes the natural weapon to deal aggravated damage once per scene?

PoisonPetal

I may just be reading it wrong, but when I look at this kith's active blessing, it just seems like...regular poisoning. What makes it special beyond the fact that it can be target-specific? Is it like the Blightbent where they are inherently poisonous?-Soleil

  • Blightbents aren't inherently poisonous? They still have to spend Glamour to actually poison someone. If a player wants to flavor their RP so that they are somehow poisonous or unpleasant to taste/touch/smell/etc without any mechanical effect, that's up to them, for both kiths, and totally a valid expression of the kiths. If a poisonpetal would prefer to remain sweet-smelling, pleasant-tasting, soft-to-the-touch but capable of poisoning someone at their will, that's also a totally valid expression of the kith.
The active blessing is a variation of the Blightbent ability, where the poisons have different applications (breath vs. touch or food/drink).
I hope this answered your questions, but I'm not sure. Let me know if you've still got concerns. -Rainier
  • Yeah, that clears it up for me. I think I worded my question badly, but it did boil down to, 'is the blessing essentially the same as Blightbent only with touch rather than poison-vomit', which has now been answered. :) -Soleil

Gravewight/Aetheric

More a question than a suggestion or comment but...Where are the Conditions that they can apply listed? I don't see them in GMC. Based purely on 'whats on the tin' though, do those Conditions really apply to living people, or is it ghost/spirit specific as far as the target?-Soleil

  • Check out the Ephemeral Influence and Manifestation Conditions section of the Ephemeral Beings chapter in the GMC update. In my PDF, the Spirit Flowchart is on page 225. All the conditions and how they work are explained in that section. Lemme know if there's anything that info doesn't answer! - Rainier
