Franklyn Garreau
“In the dark times, Will there also be singing? Yes, there will also be singing About the dark times.” - Bertolt Brecht 🎭 |
Although she’s been gone for near on ten years, Franklyn’s a local: born and bred in Fort Brunsett and part of the Garreau Family, she’s recently returned to the region to run some theatre in the city. She’s a product of fancy stage school, and it shows: she’s driven, temperamental, and more than a touch pretentious - but presumably her heart is in the right place. Even if she does spend too much time drinking, the local rumour mill says Franklyn is pretty accommodating to artists, performers and musicians who’re looking for guidance, opportunities, or at least some practice space. Like any good thespian, she’s always on the lookout to hear a great dramatic story. It’s all part of the process, and she's all about that method.
Measly Mortal: She seems like a perfectly ordinary and normal human being. Sure, she’s a bit snarky and can be kind of an asshole sometimes, but that’s probably from all the time spent in NYC. Yeah Baby, She’s Go It: Franklyn is recognisable for anyone invested in the arts/literary world - a relatively well regarded stage actor with numerous writing and production credits under her belt, she now runs the Green Door Theatre in Fort Brunsett. She’s performed off-Broadway and in touring shows during the past ten years, as well as small productions and artsy avant-garde performances - including viral videos poking fun at hip NYC life. But recently? She’s just blown up over social media. Who knew a smartphone addiction and penchant for oversharing could be so socially lucrative. Fame: 2 'It Girl'. Garreau Family: Well, they can’t all be doctors and inventors. Besides moving away to NYC for college, Franklyn’s biggest family impact so far has been electrocuting herself at a summer party when she was seven. Older and presumably wiser, she’s back from NYC and reconnecting with family. The Green Door: Franklyn is involved with a theatre slash performing arts centre in Fort Brunsett. The fledgeling company mostly puts out avant-garde productions which - surprise! - haven’t had the greatest audience draw. Word on the street is they’re changing their programme to be more inclusive and approachable. Need a performance space or somewhere to see a show? Want an audition? Looking to complain about taxpayer subsidized mime school programmes? The Green Door may be the place. So Moody: Franklyn is great company - so long as there's booze and cigarettes involved. Anyone who's spent a bit of time engaging in local nightlife may have heard rumours of her occasionally irrational mood swings. It's not her fault, she's just got a lot of feelings. Looking For The Magic: Once ones eyes open up to the possibilities of the universe, it's kinda hard to close 'em again. Franklyn's had a taste of the unknown - there's no turning back now. Maybe she's come searching for answers? Or maybe someone's stumbled across her practising incantations. Unseen Sense: Stop trying to make 'Fetch' happen! Frankly is a Highly Sensitive Person and gets more than a little queasy in the presence of Fetches. Doesn't mean she'll let the cat out of the bag, though: Franklyn isn't entirely without sympathy, or beyond making a little deal... Gossip Girl: Oh come on - spill some tea. It'll be our little secret.
