“Man is in love, and loves what vanishes; what more is there to say?”
– W. B. Yeats
Overview
Dorian Crystal is a clerk at one of the seediest motels in the area, the kind of place that embraces the 'charge by the hour' philosophy. Crystal Dorian, by contrast, is a perky off-hours weathergirl on a local broadcast TV station, the kind that makes old-timers curse about how weather forecasters don't know so much, anyway. Maybe you've only met one of them, but so doing, you've already met both. They're the same person, not that everyone knows it. This Spring courtier is more mirror than either man or woman, but at least the mirror has two faces that are somewhat familiar.
((OOC Note: Neither face of Dorian or Crystal advertises that they are the same person, but their status can be deduced if you meet them both. I'd be thrilled if we met at least twice before that occurs to anybody ICly, as figuring it out is half the fun, and the pathway towards some understanding of just what they're about.))
RP Hooks
- The Mirror Has Two Faces - Pretty obvious, right? Except when it's not. Dorian maintains two personas, who have a lot in common, and several things that are flip-flopped mirror-images of one another.
- Scrying for Trouble - You use the mirror to see things beyond your ken. You might say she is Crystal, gazing, and there are ways in which her seeing is accurate.
- Inamorati - An escapee of the Noemata, if you remember her (or him) you might have a better grasp on her personality and life; they were, at one time, an Exemplar of The Lovers. This is also why, whether or not you meet Crystal or Dorian, either one is an enormous and unjudging flirt.
