Overview
First he was famous for good things, as an astronomer, author, and astronaut with multiple missions under his belt, including a sojourn on the ISS. Then he was famous for an apparent psychotic breakdown, and subsequently something of an unwilling poster child for how mental illness can strike even the best and brightest.
RP Hooks: Mundane
- Fame: Astronaut - The glory days of the Space Race may be behind us, but those who've made it into orbit are still celebrities in their own right.
- Writer - His first couple books were accounts of his experiences in orbit. The later ones, post-"breakdown", were SF novels, mostly well-received.
