Overview
Zelda Fry is the daughter of Melanie Fry and an unnamed Abenaki man. Zelda has never known her father or his people. And her mother tries very much not to talk about him given he is the reason for her marriage failing and well, it was a mess. And yes, Zelda is named after the video game. She was born on the same day and year of its release. February 21st 1986. Zel was average in school, B's and C's mostly. She wasn't one of those children that were destined to leave and go to the big city of become a movie star. She broke the quarterback of the high school football teams nose before prom because he pranked her. That lead to her having a reputation of hit first, ask later.
When she was seventeen, one of the calves got out and she had to go after it. Zel never was a small girl, so she didn't take help with her, thinking she'd be fine. But boy, she wasn't. She found the calf in distress as it was cornered by a Bobcat. One that wasn't having its soon to be dinner. When she tried to run it off, it attacked her. Which was not expected. The Bobcat probably thought it was going to win, but it didn't. In the end, Zelda had to crush it's head with a rock, but not before it left her riddled with open wounds and trailing blood. That's probably what attracted the Noemata to her. She was added to one of the steps. The Knight of Swords. The step of action. And as soon as Zelda had a chance to rebel, she did. Never arm your prisoners. She ended up killing two of the guards in an attempt to get out. She didn't care, she just wanted to be home and safe. But home wouldn't even be safe. After three weeks of being gone, she ripped herself out of the thorns and somewhere near home.
The wounds healed and the memories faded. They only come in nightmares or when something reminds her of some far off smell. She graduated high school and skipped college to help with the farm. Once she was twenty she started training for becoming a firefighter. Her mother died after her graduation to becoming a full one, so that effected her a lot, it also left her to look after her siblings. Which put more stress on her. So when she's not herding cattle and repairing stuff on the farm she's putting out fires and helping at the station. Her enemies are few, but she's bested a few local men in firefighting training so they ribbed her about it. Besides Changelings, she's not had any interaction with Supernaturals. At least any that she knows of.
