King Charlie's Quests - #1: Find the nearest non-Soundless Freehold

(If you found this page by any other means, please go back and read King_Charlie's_Events_2017 first.)

The Winter King of 2017 doesn't intend to waste the freehold's efforts in this period of the yearly cycle. The people have been swayed by Winter, and Winter will oblige.

Background

While the Wild Roses are certainly close by, and conveniently located, it is always good to keep your options open. If someone manages to get the Roses to promise not to tell something to the Freehold, after all, it would be good to have alternatives to fact-check.

This quest will more or less involve the best navigator choosing "nearest non-Roses Market" as their destination in the Hedge and seeing where that takes him.

Goals:

  1. Find a new Market.
  2. Find out what you can about it and its rules. What does it sell? Who is in charge? Is there anything you particularly should NOT do there?
    • Send back a member of your party to report (may be an NPC if desired). There is no guarantee that the rest of you will be allowed to leave, or to return. We must be cautious.
  3. If the market is not hospitable, escape any confinement and travel home.
Go slowly, and take breaks of several hours at a time to let your trail go cold. Use Hollows to help break this.
Too many members of Fate's Harvest leave magical trails a blind baby sea slug could track through the Hedge.
DO NOT LEAD THEM TO US.
