(The spaniard's handwriting is clean and crisp, blockish little letters written for ease of legibility.)

On this day I accompanied young Mark of the Harvestmen on a scouting mission into the deep hedge in pursuit of a traveling band of Lost about whose motives we were uncertain. After we caught up with the group, a brief moment of tense discussion was had. We put up our weapons and shared drinks in an effort to learn more about the intentions of the travelers.

They claimed to be from a freehold called Atlantis which is located nearby. Many of their number this day claimed to have living memory of Silver Tree, and Mayor Jack's father Bert who they claim was a good man who would have done anything for the Freehold. They agreed to meet with us at the Wayhouse at a future date, so preparing a line of inquiry about all of this would be in order.

We met and identified the following members of the Freehold:

  • Zion: A darkling. Slow to trust. Fond of good wine.
  • Arkham: Elemental, perhaps. Woodblood? Highly skilled with a bow and arrow. Knows Contracts of Smoke.
  • Ankh: Stag beast. Also an archer of unknown skill.
  • Morpork: Mentioned, but nothing much is known of this one.
  • Waterdeep: A brewer? Not a particularly good one, to hear tell.

It is worth noting that these names correspond to fictional cities or geographic locations from pop culture. The Matrix, DC Comics, the writings of Sir Terry Pratchett, and the world of Faerun from the Forgotten Realms.

It is worth further noting that despite claiming contemporaneously living during the time of the Silver Tree, they appeared aged no older than their twenties or thirties. Any number of possible explanations exist for this fact, though it would be a worthwhile avenue of inquiry.
