Mundane Crafting

Mundane crafting, in this case, is anything which creates a physical object, requires an extended roll, and will make something which could give you/anyone an Equipment bonus.

Baking a cake wouldn't count. nWoD doesn't have a Deliciousness Bonus. :(

Per the GMC page, we are NOT using the extended action rules from the original nWoD corebook.

Extended action rules below derived from GMC p.187.

What is my Dice Pool?

Sample Dice Pools

Not sure what you should be rolling? Here are a few examples of what staff would expect for certain types of rolls:

  • Forging:
Strength + Crafts
  • Leatherworking:
Dexterity + Crafts
  • Sewing:
Dexterity + Crafts
  • Woodworking:
Strength + Crafts
Dexterity + Crafts
  • Electronics:
Dexterity + Crafts
Intelligence + Crafts

Your dice pool is Attribute + Skill [+ Specialty + Equipment + Situational modifier(s)], as usual.

You will roll this a certain number of times for your extended action.

e.g. a blacksmith forging something might roll Strength + Crafts.Blacksmithing + 2 + 3 to take into account the bonus from his tools and his workshop.

How many times may I roll?

The maximum number of times you may roll your pool is capped at:

Attribute + Skill + Specialty(ies)

Let's say our example blacksmith has Strength 4, Crafts 3.

He adds his Blacksmithing specialty, bringing the total number of rolls he can make to 8.

How many successes do I need?

Most actions require between five and twenty successes for completion.
