A True American Primitive
"It's difficult to critique Blaze's work because she is a true American primitive, seemingly completely unschooled and with no discernible style, just a savant's grasp of color and shape that evokes emotion with a primal crash that can send the viewer reeling with its immediacy. Perhaps best imagined as listening to a song in a language you don't speak, Blaze manages shocking insight into subjects ranging from eroticism to feminism to horror with childlike confidence, which might be appropriate for her age; a few years younger, and we'd be calling her a prodigy..." --excerpt from an article on her first gallery showing

Talking about me and you
- The Artist Third
Ilse is a (supernaturally) gifted painter. It's won her some fame, if you follow art circles; her muse is flighty, but she's often interested in taking commissions as well as discussing art.
- The Woman Second
Ilse is Lost, though only recently a member of the Freehold. She was kind of a shut-in for a while and didn't discover Lost culture until just a bit ago. She's still learning the ins and outs.
- Spring Court
It was desire that got Ilse out of Arcadia, and she embraces it as a reminder of what humanity she still has left. It's a central theme of her art and a good indulgence while she's just being herself.
- Her Own Boss
You can't paint unless you have something to say, and you can't have something to say unless you're experiencing life. Ilse doesn't keep regular hours, so she can be found anywhere, looking for something to inspire her. She's kind of a hippy anyway, so wandering around while high on life is just the way she is.
- That Girl
Since Arcadia, Ilse's physical identity has been in flux: she looks like the woman you most want. She gets hit on a lot for it.
- Politically Involved
If there's one thing you learn in Arcadia, it's that surrendering your power is a good way to get crushed. Ilse cares about social issues and is happy to march in protest or support, and she can chant in the streets with the best of them.
- Gay
Ilse loves women. She sometimes feel women live in a world apart from the one men live in, and there's a sense of comfort, of family, in being around people who share the experiences of her world. She doesn't hate men; she just doesn't feel that sense of connection.
- Fake Identity
Turns out her name ISN'T Ilse Blaze! She has pretty good credentials, but not perfect. If you have some reason to investigate her, you might figure that out.
