Just having arrived is a Lien. She's dressed in a pair of scrubs, today they've got elephants with wings flying about. Little merry creatures all over her pink scrub top. The bottoms are a plain blue. Her rainbow hued hair is held up in a ponytail and drips down her back. Droplets of it splashing to the floor before fading away into nothingness. The colors shimmering a deep violet to blue and green and back. She's humming something softly to herself, as she stomps mud off of her economic work shoes. A plain messenger bag rests across her body with a diagonal strap. Sitting on one of the couches in the main area is El-Berry, a monochrome dressed in a deep plum chinos and pumpkin colored light sweater under it a dress shirt with cufflinks that identify him as blackbird bishop, he seem to read a battered copy of some poetry book, when Lien come into the WH he seem to glance from his book with a big smile on his face and utter a hearty "Hello" the voice trailing a few seconds behind the movements of the lips. After finishing kicking the mud off her boots, Lien makes her way into the main area. Her black eyes are like pools of midnight and flicker over Berry when he calls out to her. A tilt of her head is given to the side and she says, "Ah, hello." Her voice is gentle, but not particularly remarkable. Sara is still in exploratory mode when it comes to this town - and that includes wayhouses. The young woman bounces in, clad in simple jeans and t-shirt (the latter having 'I got stolen and all I got was this lousy t-shirt' on it), with a smile and a song. Her voice quite seductive and enchanting, even when singing under her breath. "Hey" she greets the others with a grin. "Sara." Berry does get a curious look - she's never seen a monochrome person before. At least he isn't being ignored by the Fairest. People of her generation usually never even look at things that are black and white, and dubbed. The middle-ages monochrome seem undeterred by the young doctor's lack of enthusiasm, he close his little book and tuck into a small leather bag that sit by the couch, he then raise to his feet and go introduce himself to the new ones, he likes meeting new people and it shows "Nice meeting both of you, I'm Berry" Lien tilts her head to the side, and shifting backward to peer at the younger but taller woman who has come through the doors behind her. She dips her hands into the pockets of the scrubs and considers between the two for a moment. "Lien." She says, saying it somewhat slowly so they'll catch the pronunciation: Lee-in. "A pleasure to meet you." As she moves, stepping forward so Sara doesn't have to move around her to enter more properly, the water of her hair drips down and lands in little iridescent puddles before dissipating. "Hey, Berry" Sara replies in her sing songy voice, offering her hand as she looks him over. "Interesting" she mumbles. Sara really shouldn't state, it's not as if she looks normal, but there is just so much variety to take in. "Black and White Berry? Geddit. Blackberry. Never mind, it was a sucky joke. Forget I said it. Please." "Lien is a lovely name...for a lovely woman. You're a doctor?" Sara asks of the other woman, doing her best to avoid the drips as she slips inside. "So...what happens in this place?" Berry gives a short little laugh "Its ok miss, shortly after I came out someone introduced me to all of those so called smartphones and he got me this" and he pulls a new version of a blackberry phone "and this place? it offers hospitality, which is always good" "I'm new myself." says Lien with a little shrug of her shoulders toward Sara. Her black eyes shift between the man and woman for a moment. Each is studied very intently, before she shifts so she can face them both easier. Her hands remain in the pockets of her scrubs. "I've heard it offers..." A nod of her head is given to Berry and she shrugs once more. There's a flicker of her eyes toward Sara and she says, "A nurse, actually." "Hospitality and friends is always a good thing to have" Sara nods with a warm smile. "So, welcome, both of you, to this little town of ours. I'm not actually a native, but my family come from here. Still are here. The Frys. We hang out in the woods a lot. Maybe you'd both like to go hunting sometime? Or just camping." To Lien she adds, "Would you like to become a doctor? Though, hey, a nurse is the one who does all the work. You should be proud. Should we have a look around then?" Berry says as if repeating something someone else told him "Lien if you're new have you spoken to a waykeeper? They offered me help as someone new and I'm sure they'll do the same to you." and hears the campers offer "That sounds like fun, I never been the wilderness type but its never too late to learn, you both know to be careful around the hedge parts of the wildereness right? there been a few attacks there lately from what I heard." "New to the area, not ... new to this life." says Lien with a little shrug of her shoulders. To Sara she gives a shake of her head, "No. I don't want to be a doctor." There's a certain taciturn nature to her. She shifts to look back toward Berry and then toward Sara once more, smiling a touch. "No thank you." She gives to the offers of hunting and camping. "Okay, so Berry wants to go camping. Awesome. We'll get onto that" Sara grins before nodding in understand to Lien. "No camping for you, so how about we go out for drinks some time? Dancing? Concert? I don't suppose you can play an instrument?" A laugh as she looks at both of them. "I sound like the Town Welcoming Committee, but I'm not. Just annoyingly peppy. I work at the toy store in town. You're both welcome to drop by anytime." Berry says, "that sounds like most amazing job ever, where is located? and lee in even if you are just new to the town talking to a waykeeper might be a good idea?" "The Waylady is creepy." says Lien plainly. Her hands are still in her pockets, and aside from shifting her head on occasion she doesn't fidget very much. Her eyes flicker between Sara and Berry, returning to the former with a tilt of her head. Her lips purse briefly and she asks of the other woman, "Why?" "Out of the Box" Sara informs Berry. "Lots of cool shit in there" she winks to the Monochrome Man before quirking a brow at Lien. "Why? Why what? Why do I want to take you out or why should you come out with me? Not really tough questions. I like people and I want them to be happy. And you should come with me because I'm fun! We could be besties even." She screws up her nose a little. "At least give it a try?" Berry seems very happy as he turns to Sara "You mentioned you play an instrument? we can always go to one of the jazz nights at alchemy" Lien's eyebrows lift ever so slightly at Sara once more and she says, "Maybe." There's a little shrug of her shoulders and she glances back toward Berry, her eyebrows pinched together. "Mm. I should be going." She adjusts the strap on her bag and starts for the doors. "I play lots of instruments" Sara nods to Berry. "I'm supposed to play at Alchemy myself, sometime. Talked with Poppy about it. But, sure, we can check it out." A nod to Lien as she departs. "Nice to meet you. A 'maybe' is a pretty good start. We'll catch up soon." Berry seems to accept the conclusion of meeting new people he hand Sara a business card "Tell me when you have a show and I'll come." He then bids the two ladies farewell and takes his bag and heads to the exit |
