Margravate of the Brim

Guardians of all Changelings, who spurn the courts and operate outside of them, but none the less do everything they can to protect the Freehold.

• Titles: Margrave, March Lord (male), Margravine, March Lady (female)
• Prerequisites: Wyrd 2, Clarity greater than 4, no Mantle

Joining

First, a character cannot belong to any Court and must live just outside the freehold. Beyond that, the requirements vary from freehold to freehold. Some will accept any Lost who rejects the Courts. Others only take the strongest.

Mien

They tend to wear secondhand clothing and avoid looking like Lords/Ladies. Their mien shows skin covered in red, brown or ashen dust. Grit and grime cover their hands, eyelashes and brows. Shadows drift about them.

Background

The backgrounds vary a great deal. Some have suffered because of nobles, others were part of the Courts and left. They tend to be strong, physically and mentally.

Organization

Depending on the size, the entitlement may consider the Brim to be a lesser freehold surrounding the main. There are several outposts where they can gather. They are a strict democracy with a one person, one vote. There are a few positions within the Order though, such as Cartographer, Doorman and Crow's Nest.

Privileges

Safety of the Brim When within the territory of the Brim, they get some minor bonuses. They get +1 to Initiative, +1 to Perception rolls and +1 to Stealth rolls.
