Autumn Hollow | |
Ashe is sitting in the Autumn Hollow at the moment with a cup of coffee in one hand and a donut in the other. To say she looks a bit tired is an understatement. Uvall is hanging off one of the black antlers on her crown and talking to her, "Your husband is going to get all grumpy if we don't go out and check the phone before sundown." he chitters at her. To that Ashe just takes another bite of her donut before offering it up to the bat for a bite. Aaron comes through a shadowy corner of the Hollow. A sudden decompression of air, and then a popping sound can be heard as Aaron steps through. With him is Mr. Manx and Sasha finds her way to join them. How is another question altogether. Aaron's attire is black with dark blues, followed by his ghostly and shadowy mantle. Seeing Ashe, he offers a formal bow. "Good afternoon, your Majesty. Enjoying a break between busy moments, I see?" Ashe stands when she sees Aaron and there's a smile, "Aaron." she states to him as he bows. "And yes, enjoying a bit of a respite." she tells him. "What can I do for you?" she asks him. "Have a seat and a donut if you like." she states. Then there's a wave to Sasha, "Hello darling." she tells her. Aaron head over to the offered seat, taking a sit down. Donuts? Don't mind if I do. A lengthy and lithe hand plucks one from a tray, breaking it off for himself and the cat. Sasha offers a wave, but is aware of the Saltborn's qualities--and remains closer to Aaron. She doesn't partake in donuts. The dead miss out on much. Aaron smiles a moment, "respite is a good thing. I wanted to follow up on yesterday. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to stick around longer--but you said that you wanted to speak with me about some things. Thought that it might be best to catch my Queen between meetings." Ashe gives a smile to Aaron as he takes a seat and she takes hers as well. She does give him a nod to that, "I did, yes." she tells him. "Kip mentioned that he was wanting to work more with the library for the Custodians. Do you think that he is a good candidate for Assistant Librarian? Would you trust him to be there in your stead when you can't be?" she poses the questions to him. Aaron takes a bit from his snack as he listens to the question. He's quiet for a moment. Eyes moving this way and that, like someone assessing a large file. He looks to you once he's done in his own mind. "I think that, as someone that is very book-ish like he is, with a willingness to be an excellent Custodian, I could see him taking on more responsibilities--that being Assistant Librarian," there is a but in there... "however, I will admit that I've not had as much exposure to Kip as I'd like to really provide a confident seal on it. That can be resolved I'm sure. If he's interested, then I can make sure to meet with him within the next few days to get a better assessment of his possible candidacy." Ashe listens to Aaron and there's a nod to that, "Very good." she tells him. "And I asked you that as Kip expressed wanting to help out more at the library more, but he hadn't been able to catch you. So please make it to see him in the next few days. I know you're busy as well, so it's just something I wanted to relay to you." she tells him with a smile. "Ask, and ye shall receive," Aaron says with a nod. "I will make it a top priority on my to-do list this week." He takes another bit of his half-donut, before gesturing to see if another can be had, "what else would my Queen ask of me?" "Thank you, Aaron. It is appreciated." Ashe tells him as she finishes off her coffee. Then there's a look to him, "We will be needing Autumn's to do research of different kinds. The Soundless are still around and now there's a hob army in the Hedge. Not to mention the murder of the thirteen people recently. Given your expertise in Psychology, I was going to point your towards the murders and to see if you could glean any information from it." she tells him. Aaron huhs. "Thirteen people? Interesting number..." he is quite a moment. "Who all is currently in this series of murders? Anyone that I can speak with prior to looking into things on my end?" Mister Manx murmurs to Aaron, "perhaps the dead themselves might have something to say on the matter..." to which Aaron nods a head in agreement. "Perhaps." "That's the problem. I don't think anyone really has looked into this and I was going to, but with developing a case of Monarchism I'm going to delegate things to people." Ashe chuckles grimly at that. "I will have to speak with Samantha Whitaker if she returns. But we need to learn more about the Soundless and I want more information on the Silver Tree." she frowns. "It's like we're sitting on the old bones of a Freehold and I'd like to make sure the restless dead don't come back and kill us all in our sleep." she tells him. Aaron smiles a wry smile. "That is kinda what the Restless dead do. It's a thing for them. That's why they're restless. Unfinished killing to do..." there is a light chitter from him, "but in all seriousness, I will work on doing as much as I can with the murders. If I can split my attention without it coming undone, I can look into areas relating to the Soundless. I recall Councillor Bordeaux asking the Autumn Court to look into these matters as well." "I know, but not on my watch, Aaron." Ashe gives him an all too wide smile. "And make sure not to stretch yourself too thin. If you need assistance, ask. Esther has newly joined and she has good skills. Reach out to her if you like." she tells him. "And yes, August asked to look into things and I think he got little response. So...as Autumn Monarch and as acting Councillor I'm going to be asking it as well." she nods. Aaron nods. "I will seek out both Esther. I'll also see if Kip can assist. While not a member of the Autumn Court; which I do not fault him for, I think this could provide some good experience in researching and chronically all that can be documented for the Freehold." Ashe gives a nod to that and there's a smile, "Kip will probably be of good assistance. And while he doesn't like Fear, maybe he could be our Dandelo in things." she muses to that. "That's all I was going to ask. I wanted to see how you were doing as well. Ask if you needed any assistance with the library and things." she admits. Aaron nods. "Things are doing alright for me. Been working on finalizing one last project for Custodian Cohen, then I think my magical items projects will be completed for a time. Seems we've garnered a few more Custodians of late--which is good, as I'm looking to really get down to transforming the Library into usable standing sooner than later," he is quite as he thinks of things, "I did wish to speak with Councilor Bordeaux about petitioning for the role of Warlock of the Bitter Winds for the Freehold--but as he and I have not had a chance to sit down, it seems auspicious that we are now in Autumn, and something tells me that I might have a better chance to speak with the ruling Queen of the season about an Autumnal position than the Councilor during our off-season." Ashe gives Aaron a nod to that and there's a smile, "I'm glad that you are helping Gisa with things." she tells him. Then there's a nod, "Yes. We've got a few new additions to things. Should be a good time to see what everyone can do." she admits. Then there's a curious look to him and a nod, "August is no longer our Councillor since the Crown has passed. I will function as both Crown and Councillor to the Court." she tells him. "As for Witch of the Bitter Winds, go out and work with people, show your Arcane knowledge. Then we'll see about promotion. I'm going to speak with the Court about holding a Fallen Fair as it is one of the rituals I'd like to do besides the Hunt of Leaves." she explains. Aaron nods and adds, "Right. Sorry. I did not mean to offend with the whole Councillor and Crown. I am now aware that all functions go directly to you. I was just indicating that this bit of business was on my mind prior to your crowning. Moving forward, I shall continue reporting all Autumnal business to your majesty directly--unless indicated differently." |
