Library/Bestiary Scraps and Rumors
(In OOC terms, anything staff puts here may very well come back to bite you in the arse some day. Literally. Unless they prefer noses, or belly-rubs.)
Librarian's Note: The following is a collection of scraps and rumors, inconclusive sightings and hints of dangers we have yet to face.

(Written on a torn-off page of note paper and folded in a standard envelope-sized trifold pattern, the following appears to be a letter sent to the library, though no envelope is present.)
Custodians,
See below an excerpt from a conversation held by two hobs in the Wild Roses' market, paraphrased:
Speaker 1: "He went beyond the weeping trees."
Speaker 2: <wordless exclamation of surprise and alarm>
Speaker 2: "The fool! Were they there? Did he follow them?"
Speaker 1: "She couldn't say. She saw them coming, and ran, before she could hear them too."
Speaker 2: "Thorns! Set a watch. If he comes home, he won't be..."
Speaker 1: "I know. We'll have the fire ready. If it tries to leave, it won't escape."
After this point, the conversation turned to other matters.
I have not learned their names, but they are stout, male humanoids, chest-high on me, with broad shoulders and coarse green-brown body hair which might almost deserve to be called fur. Their skin is the smooth brown of acorn shells, their eyes small, angled and black throughout. I have not yet seen any other hobs who match their description in this area, and I have not seen these two in particular since October 31st. They may not be local.
To my knowledge, the speakers remained unaware of my observation, as Smoke veiled me from the sight of others at the time. Please commend the Librarian's efforts and add this report to the bestiary.
Yours,
Lily de Vallée
(Scrawled in less tidy handwriting and stuck to the page on a fluorescent magenta Post-It Note is a reminder to cross-reference any botanical data with the description 'weeping trees' for any further clues.)
