I don't know what I want yet. I just know what I don't.
Overview
Background:
Casper was born December 3, 1950, and grew up in New England. As a child, he was shy and quiet, but became enamored with the growing free thinking movement of the 1960s. He grew out his hair, got high with friends in high school and wanted to get involved with political radicals. Unfortunately, he was drafted into the military and forced to participate in the Vietnam war effort. He attempted to escape by crossing the border to Canada, but was arrested and abided the conscription. His last hope was to fail basic training, but either standards were very low, or he was very unlucky - he kept passing on just the border or simply did not fail hard enough to merit a discharge. His absolute terror and longing to escape conscription and war by any possible means lead to him being spirited away by cruel fate - and crueller Faerie. For at least five decades, he was trapped in Arcadia by The Perfected Mother, The Refined Father, and the Broken Daughter. They are were cruel beings that prey upon the lonely, the destitute, the weak, and the aimless. Casper was all three. He lost his humanity, his name, his flesh, his identity; he became a toy for the Broken Daughter.
Eventually, he escaped his torturous and dehumanizing durance. Over half a century later. No victory. No homecoming. No connections - only reclaimed flesh, approximate humanity, the feel of the mortal world, and the horrors of being a toy slowly passing from his mind like a vivid but rapidly decaying nightmare. At 16, He returned to a country more and less free than his own -- a prison state stripped bare where he was immediately institutionalized and then released merely a month later when said asylum ran out of funding. Driven to a homeless shelter, he encountered a band of anarchists, picked up some ideology, a taste for post-punk music, and hopped around Jersey.
Circumstance, word of mouth, and shared stories about 'shitty acid trips' caught the attention of another Lost in his circles who told him that supposedly, more like them could be found in Fort Brunsett, Vermont. Having no real friends, no affiliation wiht a Court, and no entitlement as of yet, he decides to make his way to Vermont - the land of Bernie Sanders. Besides, there was word that some luddite anarchists had a co-op there. It might be worth investigating.
RP Hooks
- New In Town - Casper arrived in early December and is still finding his footing.
- Getting Life Right - After a year in Jersey, Casper has come to the Freehold to find meaning for himself. He does not want to just live Lost and directionless.
- Just Another Punk - Casper identifies with the punk aesthetic, has some impromptu musical training, and plenty of need for expression.
Contacts
- Mavis - Literally found him and rescued him from the elements of Vermont. Now he's crashing at her house.
- Francis - A little over a year ago, Francis and Casper had a few flings. Now, the two have found each other in the City.
- Amity - The first Lost he met in Vermont.
- Thea - Met her at an art gallery. Can probably beat him up, which is a plus.
