Overview
Narcisse used to be just this guy named Aaron Clarkson, but then he got Taken. In Arcadia, he was reformed into Narcisse Beaulieu, a noble in the court of a Keeper known as Queen Anne. He fought in her wars, and when he returned to court, he played games of intrigue. They got nasty, sometimes. People's reputations were ruined, sometimes their lives were lost. He was married to a fine Fairest lady named Nicolette. Together, they were an unstoppable force. As rivals, they were devastating.
One day, Narcisse and Nicolette took their rivalry a little too far, and he got her arrested for the murder of her lover, which he had arranged out of petty spite for some perceived wrongdoing on her part. He expected her to be punished, but he never expected her to be banished. Without her, life at court was dull, and so he went off in search of her with the intent of bringing her back and clearing her name.
His travels led him through the Hedge and into the real world again with only vague memories of what had happened to him. Aaron Clarkson had been declared missing, then dead. Besides, with the time that had passed, he would've been much older than he looked. So he took on the identity of the one thing he could remember from his Durance: his name. He got on with his life, went to Julliard and studied dance.
Nicolette found him. She was a Loyalist by then, and she caught him to take to the slave market as revenge for what he had done to her. He still only had the vaguest idea of who she even was, but by the time he worked out she was his wife, he had to kill her to get away.
These days, Narcisse just wants a quiet life away from fame and intrigue. He retired early from his ballet career and came to Vermont to teach dance and settle down. He tries to do good with his life, but sometimes those darker urges surface, and he wants to mess with people. Only sometimes. Mostly, he's got a lid on it.
