Participants | 10 August, 2017 A nice evening walk in the Hedge... totally spoiled. Part of Broken Dolls. |

It's not uncommon for people to get decked out in all kinds of defenses and weapons when they go trapsing around in the Hedge, but dragons will be dragons, which is to say arrogant, and so Iris is wandering on her way to try to find the nearest market carrying no visible weapons at all, just wearing a sun dress and carrying a large satchel over a shoulder. On the other hand, the rainbow-hued dragon is also clearly a Changeling with ferociously strong connection with the Wyrd and not so human any more, so there's a good chance she knows what she's about, and just isn't afraid of whatever she's likely to find there. In any case, she does keep her unblinking serpentine eyes alert for trouble, and her ears open for sounds that suggest things might be coming that her eyes won't pick up on. She does not, however, blend in whatsoever. With anything. Except a barrel full of rainbows, or the aftermath of a semi truck full of paint having a wreck. She just strolls down the middle of the path, bold as can be.

Today's Hedge delving outfit is a pair of heathered grey sweatpants that almost hide his Chucks, that H.I.M. off-black hoodie and his canvas side-bag (it's a murse). He saw Iris going and well, knowing her to be a seeker of trouble, he decided to traipse along after. Staying rather quiet he just stays on the edges of vision, always flitting from shadow to shadow as he partly stalks and partly shadows the dragon. Right, because a Thief following a Dragon is a good idea.

Or any time of the day. I mean, sure, sometimes there are roving packs of briarwolves, but isn't that everywhere in the Hedge? And not like, that often? Sure. But something smells like smoke...

Or has she missed his presence? She doesn't give too much sign either way, like she isn't too worried about him any more than the briar wolves or other things that might be out here. She's a dragon. But when she comes upon another of the Lost on the trail ahead, just about the same time that she smells smoke, she pauses her stride for just a minute and then heads toward him. "I don't suppose you're starting fires?" she asks as she heads toward Miranda. "Or is that some other sort of trouble I'm smelling. It's not just me, is it? You smell it too?"

...And, yes. He's having a remarkably bad day now. Who even comes along with a bloody fire-spewing tank?! You'd think they'd at least have the decency to use SABOT rounds instead, but what're you gonna do? In the middle of a gout of flame he stands-- and with a tiny goblin of a soldier held up by the throat in one clawed hand, with the thing's arm restrained by his other hand. Held in the air like that directly in front of him, which unfortunately puts him right in the path of the flames. Some of the fire still licks Talbot himself, but the soldier promoted to 'Personnel Shield' takes the brunt of it. With the midget-soldier all but turned into a fireball, the leonine man steps aside and tosses the unfortunate soul in defiance towards his comrades. With a roar, of all things. A loud, thundering sound that almost seems to echo all throughout the Hedge, the sound of a an actual *lion* rather than anything that the vocal chords of a human should produce.

She sees some dude being attacked by a bank tank and a bunch of soldiers, and she charges to the rescue. That's how dragons work, at least if they want to be awesome, and she certainly does. "To arms!" she calls out, her voice rising above the din. "It's time for us to be heroes!" And she dives into the fray, her gloriously plumed wings spreading as she leaps headlong at the first of the soldiers and slices into him with flashing claws. She might be so brightly gaudy it nearly hurts the eye to look at her, but she moves like smoke.

She moves like liquid color, though, not like any mortal dancer, and as she passes the soldier she'd clawed before in a graceful spin she adds scarlet red to the spinning colors that surround her. Her claws rend flesh and leave the soldier in ribbons, and as she parks herself right in the middle of as many foes as possible she takes in a deep breath, exhales, and... breathes our rainbows like most dragons of legend breath fire. The light of it fills the area, shifting color and dancing kaleidoscope light. "Come dance with me!" she roars. "You can do better than this!"
Also, seriously, people (who are not Miranda) are going to really want showers.

Not all of it, hardly so. Enough at least, that he steps back away from it, in a crouch atop the tank, and his head tips back far. ANd just like that, another roar-- a loud, victorious battlecry of a lion overcome adversity.
-> >> Miranda to Here << <-===========================================Rolled 1 Success < 4 10 > ==============================================-> >> 1 No Flags << <-There is a lot of concentration upon Miranda's face, her hands raising, and the expenditure of Glamour nearly palpatable. That's when the sound of running water can be heard, at least as much water contained within a large hot tub, moving with a mind of it's own, in rather unusual ways. "I would recommend scrubbing yourself with dirt to get the muck off first." She says after a moment, directing the rush of water towards burning trees, climbing, engulfing, before moving onto the next, doing her best to control and contain the flames.
New Activity --------- The water stays well away from the gross people, but continues attacking the fire in the trees. "Mmmn, the fire will be out soon enough, I suspect. We do not want it causing much damage around here." She says, glancing sidelong towards the Darkling. "Can you put out fires? Or perhaps help clean Iris here?"
