Lux is noticeable long before she is visible. Her Wyrd makes the very air pulse with power. Light pools around her feet in an expression of the Wyrd on her personal reality. It moves in waves and gentle currents, then drifts up like mist around her forming patterns in the air about her. Today, fractals upon fractals into infinity are displayed in ever increasing detail within the wispy strands of light that float about her.

She is sitting in a high back chair with a clipboard and several pieces of paper. Notes have already been taken on many of them, under the others. A row of tiny clay faces - trifles - sits neatly on a table beside her. A sign sits next to those that says: Mien Study - in neat meticulous handwriting.


"Hellooooo! November?" Kip calls out as he enters. He's got his usual leather messenger bag slung over him, diagonally resting across his chest, and his hair started out the morning pulled back into a man bun, though it's already started coming loose so strands fall into his face. He stops short when he is inside enough to spot Lux, the /real/ reason that his Wyrd-spidey-sense was a-tingle. "Oh. Sorry. Just-- just not used to anyone but November making the hair on the back of my neck go up like that." His own Wyrd is not at all that high, but at least it is no longer entirely lacking and being only the faintest trace of it. It's present enough, though.



Lux turns, regarding Kip with hard, proud green eyes. She smiles slightly, ruby lips turning upward in a motion that never reaches her eyes. "Hello. November is not present, I am afraid. Come, sit. Would you like to help me with a project?" One hand reaches out palm upwards to gesture to the chair next to hers, facing her. "There is a triffle in it for your troubles. Just for answering a few questions."



"I-- was just--" Kip glances back at the door over his shoulder, then back again. It just shows he's his usual nervous twitchy self. A hand reaches up to absently scratch at his hair and he gives a grin. "Uhm, I'll... well I don't know how much help I'd be. I'm not the most uh, knowledgeable about Meins but uhm-- I'll help with whatever I can." He drops into the seat, his bag still across him so the bag portion rests on his lap, his hands atop it. "Triffles, huh?" His eyes glance at the clay faces for a second, eyebrows up juuust a touch as if to ask about them.



With a nod of her head, Lux reaches out to the table and picks one up. "This is a clayface. It will absorb harm if you are holding it until it breaks. It is not a lot - a small cut or a few bruises - but sometimes that can be the difference in keeping you alive." She puts the clayface back down and starts writing. "You are Kip, yes? I believe I have seen you about town." She flips to a new page of paper and starts making notes in a long, flowing handwriting that is every bit as merticulous and beautiful as a fairest should be. "Kip. Young, low Wyrd. Possibly Levinquick, or Aetheric/Telluric? Mien is slight, difficult to tell. Blue and green sparkles in wake. Glowing blue and green eyes. Skin worn and leathery, old book cover perhaps." 

She makes a few more notes, then looks up smiling - and it still doesn't touch those eyes - "Allright, Kip. I am Lux Shadowcaster, Vizier. Answer a few questions about yourself as best you can and you may have one of the Trifles. Please feel free to ignore any questions you do not wish to answer. What would you classify your Kiths as, if you know? Do you know or understand how you came to be this way from your time in Arcadia? Do you know the name of your Keeper or any of their Titles, and do you know or believe they had any hand in your current form? Are you a memeber of any Entitlement that would affect your mien, and can you describe the changes it has made to me?" The questions are said in a measured tone, though little time is left for answers until she puts her pen to paper and waits."



"Oh that sounds... clever. And useful," Kip mentions about the clayface. He reaches a finger out to gingerly touch one like he's curious about it, though he stops and looks up again. "Yeah. I'm... Kip," he agrees very quietly, like he's maybe surprised that his name is known. "How-- how do--" he doesn't finish the question about how she knows. Which is good. He can barely get more than two or three words out at a time without haltingly stammering. "And uhm, that's... that's a lot of questions. I uh-- wow. What was the first one again?" he ventures before shaking his head a bit. "Maybe... maybe I'll just tell you about me and you can uhm, see if that answers what you want to know?"



Lux's lips turn down slightly, but she sighs quietly then puts her pen down. Folding her hands together she offers another attempt at a smile. "Allright. Tell me about your Mien Kip. Do you know what Kith you are and what Seeming you would be classified under? And tell me about what you think your mien means and how it came to be." She is clearly trying to put patience into her voice.


Kip's forehead scrunches up a bit. "Well, I was Taken. Which, obviously. And I spent a very very long time in a very dark place filled with books and scrolls and tablets and computers and more books and more books. It was a big Library. So over time, I just-- I could just turn the lights on, like I was powering them. And I could-- I don't know how to explain it. Move along the uh, the lines, jumping from stack to stack, all the way up to the ceilings, which some parts had some very high ceilings. So I don't uh really know. If it made me like that or if it just... developed over time. I've noticed lately that it's a bit brighter than it was before. As it gets brighter, it almost seems like I kinda remember more about being there. If that makes sense. But according to the stuff I've read, I'm a Levinquick."



Lux nods her head, retrieving her pen and making a few notes. "I see." The pen scratches across the paper for a few more minutes. "Do you recall the TI=itle of your Keeper or anything else about them?" she asks, glancing upward again to study the other changeling. "If it is painful to recall or you do not remember, that is allright."


Kip's head slowly shakes. "No, I-- I don't uhm, I mean it's not that it's painful. I don't really know. I never met it. I just... knew what it wanted. I don't even know if that makes sense. I don't think any of us met it, we just called it the Librarian. In fact, I didn't really talk to anyone there. I never much saw anyone, but when I did, it was because we were supposed to be doing something. So if it ever appeared to anyone else or had a name or even /spoke/, I don't know. But it wasn't painful. In fact-- it was the opposite most of the time. It was kinda... great."



Lux nods her head, making a note about the name. "Thank you Kip. I have everything I need, but if you have anything else you would like to share, I will listen. This study is primarily for Miens, but Entitlements and Keeper information is related to that and is useful for the Library. May I attach your name to this entry?" Her eyes have softened slightly, turned from hard pride to mild amusement and perhaps a bit predatory in nature.


"I don't have an Entitlement," Kip mentions. "At least not that I know of." He grins a bit. "But if that ever changes, I'll be glad to fill you in." He's playing with his hair again, trying to tuck it back though it just falls into his face once more. "And yeah, of course. I'm glad to help out any way I can. And if I come across anything in the Freehold Library about any of it, I'll set it aside for you if you'd like."



Lux nods her head again. "Of course, you are the Assistant Librarian." she smiles slightly at that, then gestures. "I will also add a few entries in the Known Keepers section about your Keeper. If you remember anything else, please update the record. The more information we can draw on about our previous captors and other Others out there is more power for us." She interesting does not mention protection. Just power.


Kip, however, takes it that way. Because to him, power is something you use to help others, after all. But that's just his outlook. "Of course I will," he says chipperly. "I'm glad I could be of some help. I'm all for research projects. Keeping documentation of what we all know is part of what we do. If you need any help with anything about it, too, just let me know." He's less stammery when he gets excited about something. Like knowledge.



Reaching over to the neat rows of Clayfaces, Lux picks up one and presents it face up toward Kip. The little face of clay is spasming mid spasm in pain. "For your services. I will certainly be returning to talk to you after your connection to the Wyrd grows. When you reach... a bit more than half my strength I will be curious to see what occurs. I will also be interested if you manifest any additional Kiths. You provide a nice baseline for the study, especially in an area where the vast majority of Changelings are extremely strong in their connection to the Wyrd." like hers.


Kip looks almost amused at the look on the face as he reaches for it and takes it, turning it in his hand to look at it better before tucking it away into his bag carefully. "Well, apparently I've been trying to... downplay I guess what I really am, so I've been trying to uh... embrace it more I guess. Might as well, there's no cure for it, right?" He can never go back to being a Real Boy. His lack of trying is already evident to those who pay attention to those things, with how much stronger his connection to the Wyrd has become in the past few weeks since he started getting sick and was then cured. "Hopefully if I do manifest something, it will be something useful and amazing. Guess that's all we can hope for. So, if you come up with any more questions too, let me know."


Lux raises a brow. "Thats not entirely true, Kip," She says slightly. "If you do not touch, use, draw, or manipulate Glamour for a Year your connection to the Wyrd will atrophy. I would gauge you would need..." She pauses, studying him for a moment. "Two to three years to atrophy to the most basic connection possible. Once there, well... We live in a world of faries and monsters, Kip. There is undoubtedly something out there that will break your connection permenatnyl. I don't know if you'd truely be a real boy again, but you wouldn't be Changeling anymore."


Kip, despite himself, looks almost hopeful at that information. "Oh. I-- I didn't know," he mentions before giving a very thoughtful look as he absorbs the knowledge and tucks it away. "Well, I should maybe get back to the shop. I just walked over to see if November was around so I could talk to her for a minute, but I'll catch her later. Figured I'd get some fresh air and exercise before the rain comes later." He gives that impish dimpled smile of his for a second that just gives him a bit of a goofy look. "Thanks. For letting me take part. And for uhm..." He lifts his back a tiny bit to indicate the clayface inside before he gets back to his feet.



Lux stands, putting a hand on Kips shoulder. The light smoke drifts with it, the fractal patterns having changed to more devious looking claw like structures. "That being said Kip, it is far better to embrace it. The power that comes with the Wyrd is what you can use to protect your friends and those whom you love. If you strive hard and seek the power you will have the ability to do what ever needs to be done. There are Changelings who have strove into the Deep Hedge and rescued others from the Gentry. They have stormed the breaches of Arcadia and killed the True Fae. They have done the impossible... and it was their Wyrd that let them do it. Either path has it consequences. Only one can really let you protect what you hold dear." She lets go of him then, returning to her seat. "Thank you Kip, again."


Despite himself, Kip's eyes glow like they're lighting up for a moment at mention of saving others and killing the True Fae. For a pacifist, he has a lot of rage that he likes to point in that direction, usually on behalf of the others in his life moreso than his own experience. "I-- will keep that in mind," he says with a nod. "Thanks again. i... am gonna get back to the shop. And I'll be in the Library later, got some work there to do as well. Swing by either if you need more from me!" And with that, he heads back out.
