It's a cooler night on Friday the 13th and there's been some schmucks running around in hockey masks with machete's scaring kids, but the cops have ran them off. The entertainment district is ramping up for Halloween with putting up old school posters for movies that are thirty or so years old. Movies like the original Halloween. You can almost hear the original chorus to the movie play in your head as you walk by.

Date night! That's what Green will call it, regardless of what Green's date calls it. Though Green's not dressed exactly sultry, or sexy, or really too much of anything beyond cute, she is wearing autumn colors. She's in a little red dress with a reddish background, with little dots of colors in oranges and browns and yellows, along with tights, cute oxford shoes, and a cardigan over it all. Still, not exactly warm enough, so she's leaning against Teagan plenty as they walk. "Did you ever see any of these?" she asks, as they pass some of the old horror movie posters. "Not exactly my genre..."

It is ''nine hundred percent'' date night. Teagan's even wearing their t-shirt with the least wear and the fewest tiny wear holes. (It's tough being a Squire. Your shit just wears out no matter what you do. Among other things including horrible death likely, but whatever.) Their arm loops around Green easily, and their pace is easy, comfortable. For once, they look, yanno. Kinda happy, actually. And! Their mask is up. No Summer heat, no radio crackles, no weird shifting face. Just a Dominican androgyne, and their date. "Well, I saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre... " Teagan drolls, one corner of their mouth curling up as if that's some sort of joke on their part. "Not really my thing, though. I have the same problem with these movies that a lot of military people do with military movies... " Yeah, they're definitely making fun of themselves.

"... Are you..." Green starts to respond, as she looks aside. She lefts a perfectly sculpted eyebrow. "Are you trying to tell me that as a horror movie character, you have a difficult time..." She pauses. "Being misrepresented...?" This all asked with an entirely neutral expression.

Glancing out of the corner of their eye at Green, the corner of Teagan's mouth stays curled up. "I am making fun of myself by way of implying that, yes," Teagan answers, keeping a straight -- a calm -- a -- well -- anyway, they're not laughing openly, though laughter teases at the corners of their eyes and mouth, as if they're trying ''not'' to laugh. Their shoulders rise, and then fall, an easy gesture.

Green's lips purse, and it's clear she has ''things to say''. From the look on her face nothing but more teasing. But, finally, she clears her throat. "Bit like how offended I get when they show witches to be ugly, innit?" she asks, smirking easily. "Just unfair. Who would deal with Satan and walk away ugly?" she huffs out. "Just... bad story telling."

The two of them walk along and there is any alleyway at the end of the block. Which a big black cat shoots out in front of them at. Something happens and then...

"........" Teagan was ''going'' to say something, they were. But then the Harbinger -- hello, a Harbinger will ''always'' notice a black cat, because professional courtesy toward their fellow bad-luck sorts -- sort of half-steps and stops. Wait. "... did. That. I -- " And then Teagan sort of rambles: "You're beautiful, of course, but something just -- "

Green blinks twice. And then takes a breath, and her smile is back. Ever so pleasant. Despite how time is acting up on her... again. As it has been for weeks. Green's outfit is not exactly warm enough, so she's leaning against Teagan plenty as they walk. "Thank you, love," she quips. "Did you ever see any of these?" she asks, as they pass some of the old movie posters. "Not exactly my genre..."

Time, however, has been acting ''totally normally'' for Teagan. Until now. So they just kind of ... go along with it, for now, actually. It's fine, weird broken time is definitely not a Durance-related thing we're fine here. "Uhm," Teagan answers, thoughtfully. "Well, I saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre... but I always end up having the same problem that military folks have in watching war films." Sure, let's just go along with it. Small radiation leak, just give us a minute to lock it down. We're fine, we're all fine here, how are you?

"Are you trying to tell me that... as a horror movie character yourself... you have a difficult time feeling ''misrepresented''?" Green asks, with a sly grin. She's more confident this time. More confident her dear lover will not be offended by this nonsense. More confident because, well... she already saw this happen once, and it went just fine! Which, uh, is that why Green's so confident all the time...?"

Whereas Teagan is, you know, just a ''really really good liar.'' "I am making fun of myself by way of implying that, yes," Teagan answers, keeping a mostly straight -- a calm -- well, they're not laughing openly. "They always hold the machete so terribly. What looks good on film is just... so wrong." A heavy sigh, even though laughter tugs at the corners of their eyes and mouth. "So wrong."

And they take that same path down past the same posters and the same movie theater. Coming to the alley. That black cat is sitting there. That tubby fucker is just sitting on the curb licking it's paw like it owns the property and it probably does. It doesn't jet out in front of anyone and time doesn't rewind. But the alley gives any uneasy feeling.

And in the words of Sweet Brown: Ain't nobody got time for that!

She eyes the cat, and lofts one of those perfectly sculpted eyebrows. Well, tubby? Not going to move this time...?

From the other side of that alley entrance comes Levi. She was clearly dressed by someone, since instead of baggy pants and too-tight top, it's the other way around. Dark leggings under a properly-sized gray hoodie- no wait, grey, it's Green's and she's English, with its hood up, stony mane cascading out the side- and half a croissant in hand, slowly getting nibbled to oblivion. In the other hand, a scrap of notebook paper being considered, with glances around the street for a payphone. Which, of course, aren't there. But it doesn't stop the looking.

A heavy sigh from Teagan, then, and they look at the cat, and then back at Green. They look up at the sky, over toward the alley, and then squint their eyes closed. Sometimes it requires ''an act of will'' to not look at or for omens, and Green probably knows this expression from Teagan by now, the 'not gonna look, not gonna look' that they sometimes get when they're actively ''avoiding'' the obsessive act that is reading the signs on the skitter of leaves or a plume of smoke or the fall of someone's hair against their shoulder. "Okay, so I'm not, in this moment, crazy," they say to Green, because she is, in fact, staring at the cat.

The cat gives a look to the two and then starts to trundle off towards the theater when it's called. Cats spoiled rotten and definitely not an alley cat.
