WW17 - Wilderness - Lower Foothills
Thinly settled, the foothills of Salvation are a pleasant, if often windy place, home to an old-fashioned windmill kept in operation these days largely through tourist dollars. The farms here are smaller, a few corn fields vying with specialty grains for use in the mill, livestock trending more toward goats and free-range chickens to appeal to the homegrown whole foods markets in the city.
One lane as it is, there is plenty of room to either side of the dirt riding trail for vehicles to ease onto the shoulder and let others pass, though a sign higher up the slope does eventually forbid vehicular traffic for safety's sake.
