WW05 - Wilderness - Salvation East - Peak

Bare and rocky above the trees, the lower of Mount Salvation's two peaks, simply named Salvation East, offers a clear view of Mount Mischance off to the near southeast, the river Tam which flows down to the south toward the distant falls and the peak's taller twin, Salvation West. Its highest point is capped by a weathered bronze U.S. Geological Survey marker, noting its elevation at 3,459 feet above sea level.

A tall fire tower has been built on level ground and bolted down into the stone for safety's sake, volunteer firefighters often willing to give tours of the tower in the off seasons.
