We're working on making the best game we can. This process takes a while. Here's what you can expect as we continue developing the MUX.

Alpha Testing

Goals

  • Code Test: Test all the things. Find bugs. Fix 'em.
  • Grid Completion: Everything should be desced and typo-free.
  • Reality Levels: Add Shadow and Twilight layers to grid.
  • Kiths: Review, refine and finalize all kith blessings.
  • Wiki: Make sure info on the wiki is available, easy to find and easy to read.

Environment

  • Invitations: Players will be invited to help us test. Please don't invite all your friends over to play yet.
  • PCs: Make whatever you want. Pick weird combinations. Try things. Try to break things! You won't keep these characters.
  • PC Wipe: All PCs will be wiped at the end of alpha. Be sure to save your ideas/build offline so that you can remake later. (Sunday February 26!)
  • Duration: Alpha testing could take a few months. Please moderate your enthusiasm accordingly.
  • Rewards: Extra rewards will be provided all over the place to help with testing. They will not persist past alpha.
  • Story: Staff won't run any. You won't get rewards for it. All RP occurring during alpha should probably be backstory or fluff.

Beta Testing

Goals

  • Normal Function: Does the game work under normal conditions? Have we got all our staff-procedures working as they should?
  • Help Files: Is everything updated and accurate?
  • Wiki Info: Is everything updated and accurate?
  • Storytelling: Do we have staff STs? Do we have story ready to go at launch? Is all our plot and NPC information in a staff-accessible location?
  • Finishing Touches: Is everything on our alpha and beta To Do Lists done? Are the boards clear of dross?

Environment

  • PCs: Players should make the characters they intend to play at launch. There will NOT be a PC wipe at the end of beta.
  • Duration: Short! We'll try to keep beta testing less than one month. This is the time to really get excited! We certainly will be!
  • Rewards: May be provided optionally at staff discretion for contributing to the launch-readiness of the game. Automated rewards will be provided. Incentives will not.
  • Story: Staff will run some! We will be starting our lead up to launch.

Public Launch

Gates open wide! Stories start. The mountains ring with joy.

Current plan is to open with the Spring Crowning, likely with an NPC taking up the position with the goal of transitioning to PC leadership by Summer.
