The Broadcast

"Good morning, Fort Brunsett and welcome to New Music Friday on WFBR. I am your host, Her Royal Majesty Amanda Green, and I am here to give unto you the latest and greatest new music," says a voice that's markedly English and decidedly lovely. "I realize that it's not yet even fifty five degrees out, but half the week was positively beautiful. Did you all enjoy it? Baking out in the sun, pretending that winter is not about to come crashing down upon us like an avalanche? ... I hope so," Green sounds positively delighted, and is surely smiling behind the microphone. "Let's get started. This is The Big Moon with their newly released acoustic version of Cupid." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqC_qHiyThs The Big Moon - Cupid

"What a perfect intro to this week's show..." Green says, as her voice returns to the airwaves. "A show that's dedicated to love. Fickle, nasty, beautiful, delicious love. Love that may be. Love that may not be. Love that you might not be ready for. Love that you may well... miss... if you're not prepared to take that shot." There's a pause, and the little Brit behind the mike gives a wistful sigh. "This track is called The Wave by Elohim." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBmDLqYhyJY Elohim - The Wave

"Are you taking chances, Fort Brunsett? Are you watching for the wave? is it worth it? Are you going to let it hit you in the face?" asks Amanda Green. "Next up we have Petit Biscuit featuring Panama, giving uss Waterfall." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOQh4NXZ2wo Petit Biscuit - Waterfall Ft. Panama

"Now, I wasn't going to play this one... I told myself I wouldn't. Because, honestly, it's just too lovely and I wanted to keep it all to myself," Green says, with a wistful sigh. "But a certain caller has made me decide I really ought to play it..." she says, her voice going faint. "A fantastic track, this is Television Romance by Pale Waves." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot1j5M5PTC4 Pale Waves - Television Romance

"Doing rather well sticking with our theme, aren't I?" Green asks. There's a soft laugh, before she clears her throat. "You are listening to WFBR Fort Brunsett Radio. This is New Music Friday, and I am Amanda Green. For those just joining I'm here to talk to you about love," Green says. "Anyone have anything to say on the matter? Anyone have a love they think they've lost? A love they've let go? A love they've just gained?" she asks. "Call. Text. Let me hear from you. And in the meantime, let's check in from the... Darker... side of love. This is Mastodon with Toes to Toes." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u44bs_Cwoms Mastodon - Toes to Toes

"A little bit different from Mastodon. A little more beautiful, maybe? I'm not exactly the biggest fan of the genre, so someone else might need to call in and let me know," says Amanda Green, in the pretty, pretty accent of hers. "Let's move on from metal to ... Party Next Door. This is his latest, featuring Halsey. It's titled Damage." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PPHoCymPEA PARTYNEXTDOOR - Damage feat. Halsey

"Bit on the nose, hm?" Green asks, with a little laugh that follows. "Or maybe we need to be more direct. Thank God for Demi Lovato. Here's Ruin The Friendship." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FhyKky06nk Demi Lovato - Ruin The Friendship

"That was Ruin the Friendship, which is apparently Demi Lovato's request that Nick Jonas... well. You get the idea, yeah?" Green asks, with a smile on her lips, clearly heard in her voice. "This next track is dedicated to the person who absolutely won't let me. But doesn't mean I can't angst over it, on the airwaves, where someone made the mistake of giving me the power to broadcast across half of Vermont," Green says, sounding, once again, positively delighted. "To a woman who probably will not like the song, with lyrics she'll object to, here's Tiesto with Carry You Home." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRqGP5u-oak Tiesto - Carry You Home

"I figured by now... I'd have to stop. Stop abusing this poor topic of love and commitment and relationships and choosing. Surely, one might think, Her Royal Majesty Amanda Green cannot keep at it. Not after all that...!" There's a laugh. "This is WFBR Fort Brunsett Radio. I'm Amanda Green. I can do anything. So here's a new one from Pink titled Beautiful Trauma." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41taYOq1kVY P!nk - Beautiful Trauma

"Now, let's stop with the angst and the heart ache and the confusion and the longing... let's move on to something that's just a silly, cliched sort of love song," Green says, as she comes back over the airwaves once more. "This is Teacher by Pretty Much." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=px7dYqZPk6I PRETTYMUCH - Teacher

"Well. There's two more tracks I wanted to play for you to today... But they don't quite fit the theme. That and the boss said abso-flipping-lutely not. Asked me if I was bloody barmy. Only, not... those words, of course," Green says, and then gives another soft laugh. "The Wu-Tang clan has released their second single off their upcoming album, The Saga continues. It's titled Lesson Learn'd. Check it out. We also have a new release from Skrillex, who has remixed Kendrick Lamar's Humble. If you're a fan of Skrillex, it's rather lovely," Green says. Then a pause, and a breath. "It's been lovely today. Thinking about love. Thinking about angst and despair. Thinking of the wonderful and horrible things that go with it. My final song of the set... dedicated to someone who said no but maybe... who is so confident they'll have another chance to say yes... is titled Punk Drunk and Trembling by Wild Beasts. Enjoy." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrmGrkuiY50 Wild Beasts - Punk Drunk And Trembling
