The Broadcast

"Gooooooood morning Vermont!" The voice that comes across the airwaves is delightfully British and seems to be decidedly perky and cheerful. Someone had their 'coffee' this mornign. "I am Her Royal Majesty Amanda Green, and you are listening to New Music Friday on WFBR Fort Brunsett Radio," says Green. "My goal today is to give you some new music. To stir up some feelings and thoughts. To get you out of your box. To give you some... Passion." The voice stops for a moment, letting that word hang in the airwaves. "This is Pasion by AWOLNATION." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzJNg0BqA7A AWOLNATION - Passion

"Now, can I do this entire set about passion?" Green asks, as she comes on the air once more. "It would be nice, wouldn't it? Only... I don't well think I should. Word is someone is drunk and in love with me? Was that it, Enid?" she asks, and follows it with a little laugh. "I'll go on the record as saying I have absolutely no idea who was drugged and singing about me, if that's what I'm meant to read... Though I do tend to like my men... soft and mumbly," Green all but purrs into the mike. "Further, that little scuffle at Cat-22 - a.k.a. the place to go for a bar fight - was caused entirely by Miz Garreau's steadfast love for Jack Kerouac. Which..." Sigh! "And, truly, I've no comment about the charming... Mr. Alexander..."

Quiet hangs in the air for a moment, and then Green takes a breath, and continues. "This is an old recording, but only now has been released. Triple J - an Aussie radio station - has released their latest version of Like A Version. Lovely musicians cover the works of other lovely musicians. You've heard a few of these before, and I really see no reason to not keep going... This is CHVRCHES covering Do I Wanna Know?." https://youtu.be/CjwwmFrsX_E CHVRCHES - Do I Wanna Know? (Arctic Monkeys Cover)

"I have to say, I'm feeling a bit passionate," says HRM Amanda Green. She takes a deep breath into the mike, then continues on. "Does anyone want to call and chat? Talk about passion? Talk about the news? Talk about... new music?" she asks. "I don't want to hear about Jack Kerouac. I will hang up on you. Otherwise... Please, call. And while I wait for my beloved audience to reach out to me... Here's Wishlist by Kiiara." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vbr6uEVoRoE Kiiara - Wishlist

"This next song speaks to me in ways so horribly practical. It's called Headphones and it's the latest from Walk The Moon. Let's have a listen..." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1y7giHbrvcc WALK THE MOON - Headphones

"That speak to anyone else out there?" Green asks, as she comes back over the airwaaves. "Once again, I am Amanda Green and this is New Music Friday on WFBR Fort Brunsett Radio. I'm going to move along to a new one by Knuckle Puck. This is song really does remind me of... well. Let's say mid 2000s? Back when I was just starting at Uni... It's called Twist." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQjlEOjZCIw Knuckle Puck - Twist

"Next up, we've a new track from Kris Wu, featuring Travis Scott. Bit risky, in my humble opinion, putting Travis Scott on your song. But he is incredible. And I think this song is, as well. This is Deserve." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeBCu1ZSORs Kris Wu - Deserve ft Travis Scott

"This next track is... poppy. No, not the person Poppy. The song itself has pop to it. It's... well. You'll see. The latest from Frankie, this is Paper Doll." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPy3mIBoSzc FRANKIE - Paper Doll

"... Did we all make it through that?" Green asks, with a grin on her lips. "Frankie can be... a bit much to handle sometimes. But really, she's lovely, and her voice... mmm. Well. Let's keep moving, and walk ourselves out of where we're at, and towards our conclusion. This is Honey by Kehlani." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69mJfm0MZKU Kehlani - Honey

"Not just an incredible voice... But that woman, something about her look. I can't get enough of it," Green says, with a sweet smile on her lips. "From that, we're going to move on to a group called Supercombo, from Vitoria, Espirito Santo, Brazil. This is a session recording of their track Bonsai." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_54Vl3qmJgM Supercombo - Bonsai ft Flavia Felicio

"The group's just brilliant. I recommend you check them out. And while I am giving recommendations... there is some more new music out today. We've new albums from Beck, from St. Vincent, from Pink, and from Gucci Mane. More, I'm sure, but those are the ones that caught my eye, that I didn't play here today..." Green explains, her voice as lovely and pleasant as ever. "Now then, let's hear something new from someone we've known for a while. This is Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds with Holy Mountain." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIQdUJ04iNY Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds - Holy Mountain

"Fort Brunsett, Tamarack Falls, everyone else out there listening... It has been an absolute delight, as it always is. Once again, I am Amanda Green, this was New Music Friday, this remains WFBR Fort Brunsett Radio, and I will wish you all a very lovely weekend..." Pause. "And to help that weekend be extra lovely, here's a song you've never heard before. It's written and played by a man called Bob Dylan. This is Making A Liar Out Of Me." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dh5FQhbirrc Bob Dylan - Making A Liar Out Of Me
