People catch up at the Wayhouse.

Location

The Wayhouse

The weather has been getting a bit cooler now that Summer is drawing to a close and Autumn is fast approaching. The Wayhouse is quiet as one walks up to it, but when you get inside, that's not the case.

"Give it back, Al!" can be heard as one walks in. The sound of scuffling feet and...claws? Is someone fighting a bear in the kitchen? Possibly. The kitchen doorway is suddenly blocked by a silver haired woman that seems to be playing tug of war with a hellhound. The item that's being fought over? A frozen turkey leg. "I swear if you don't let go of it I'm going to put you on a vegan diet." the woman growls out as she makes one last attempt to drag it from the beast.

Welp, she gets what she asks for, suddenly the hellhound lets go of it and the silver haired woman's ass meets the ground rather abruptly while holding a frozen turkey leg. She just blinks at him as he stands there.

However he got in here without being noticed could be a mystery for the times. Or it could just be the others were making enough racket to hide a battleship dragging an army of pots and pans. Polk is standing just inside te door, staring at the spectacle. He's probably seen a lot but this might be a new one. "Huh." A few more steps taken and he offers a hand to the other FT. "I'm not sure I've seen someone fight over frozen meat before."

Alocer sniffs, "It's not like it's going to hurt me or anything." the Hellhound states with a grump. When Polk is noticed though the beasts hackles rise a little, until he realizes he's supposed to be there. He then sits back on his haunches, "It didn't have a name on it." he grumps.

Signe turns almost seven shades of scarlett when she hears a voice. Then she turns her head and there's a chuckle, "He's just getting into the fridge. Trying to keep him from eating everything." she states as she takes the offered hand and leverages herself up. "Sorry about that." she adds. She then gives him a look, "Are you new?" she asks with a smile.

The New Guy looks to the beast and lofts a brow. If ten year old Tony could see him now, he'd think he was the coolest guy ever, talking to dogs. Tony has other opinions. "Would it have stopped you if it did?" he asks with a chuckle before looking to Signe. "No worries. Yeah, I'm new. Sorta. Just got into town a couple days ago. I've been trying to get pledged but seems the crown is pretty busy. Been staying with a friend of mine who suggests I stick around for a season, see if I like it here."

He half-smiles to the woman, "I'm Tony Polk. Fae-Touched."

"You guys and your 'sense'." Alocer chuffs a bit. Then he turns to settle down on the floor. While he might be a brat right now, he does pay careful attention to the two.

Signe gives the man a bright smile, "Welcome. I'm Signe Desrochers. Also a Fae-Touched. I feel like I've been the only one for ages." she chuckles. "It's good to meet you. Are you hungry? Want a beer?" she asks him. Then she realizes she's not released his hand, there's a sheepish smile as she lets it go, "We generally don't have tug of wars in the kitchen. So this is a rarity." she muses. "And excellent, housing was my next question." she tells him with a nod.

Tony holds the hand easily, smiling behind the beard. "You might go back to being the only one. We'll see how things work out here. I haven't made any decisions yet but I like the area. Very pretty. And, ah, just a bottled water please." The hand drops and he glances to the oversized fuzz-pup with an upnod, then back to Signe. "Housing is taken care of. I'm not skating on charity unless you count Dielle as charity. I'm crashing her guest room until I find a place. How long have you been in the area, yourself?"

Signe gives a shake of her head, "I think you'll be fine. Queen Helah is just busy at the moment from what I've heard. So she's probably getting back log done. I'm sure she'll get back to you soon." she tells him. "And cool, as long as you've got a place." she states with a smile. "I'm local born and raised. The Desrochers are one of the local families. I got kidnapped back when I was 17. So..yeah." she frowns. "But it's been better the last few years." she adds to offset the frown with a smile.

Alocer's ears perk up at the mention of Dielle, but for now he continues to be an overgrown rug chilling in the kitchen doorway.

Dielle walks in the door, at that point. She's wearing leggings and a large football tee for the local college that hangs on her like a tent, even as tall as she is. It has Jon's last name and his number on it. Go figure. She is wearing the cowboy boots, though, and the leggings clash horribly. Must be laundry day. "Hey, y'all. How's everyone doin'? Thought I'd take a peek, since I don't get around here near as much as I should."

"Likely. I'm not real concerned about it. I'm more interested in meeting the locals and figuring out if I want to stay than actually getting pledged. Though, heh, the latter would be helpful. I don't expect a lot of people are going to talk to an unpledged FT." Polk keeps things casual, not trying to inject himself into anything. "Seventeen? Ouch. Yeh I got taken when I was just about 22." And he looks like he's in his mid to late 30's now? "So were you kinda bound to the freehold just through the location and local family? Or did you just decide to stay for them?" Seeing Dielle, though, he looks over his shoulder and grins. "Love the boots. Finally getting back into the seas, eh?"

Signe gives a smile when someone comes in and there's a wave to Dielle, "Doing alright. How're you?" she asks. Then there's a look to Polk again as she listens to him, "Getting to know the locals is a good idea. Most of us aren't going to bring out torches and pitchforks." she teases him gently. "Yeah...prom night went horribly wrong. Stay off the East Bank if you aren't with someone...even if you are with someone." she states with a sober look. "A few of my family members are Changelings. I was told that joining would be safer. So I did." she admits. "My cousin died a few months ago, that's why I've got the big guy now." she nods to Alocer.

Alocer gets up and trots his way over to Dielle when he sees her come in, "Rainbow horsie. How you been?" the Hellhound asks.

Dielle sees Alocer and her eyes light up. "Hey, Alocer! How the hell have you been? I'm ok!" She offers wordlessly to pet the Hellhound and she looks delighted to see him. "I'd wondered what happened to you! Glad to see you're with a relative!" If he lets her, she gives him a good skritching and possibly a very light hug. "Hey, Tony. Hey, Signe." She's getting all goopy over Alocer, because a) she considers him an old friend, they've witnessed some trauma together, and b) DOGGIE.

"Torches and pitchforks are all the rage, though. It sounds like you guys are just denying yourselves a party on Friday nights." Polk shakes his head but there's a well-meaning, sly smile. "So whats up with the east bank? Something hunting people down there or what?" Tony moves further in and heads for the fridge, pulling out a bottled water, then heading for a chair. "In my time I figured out that you either need to join a freehold or just cut off regular contact with the Lost and be suspicious of everything and everyone. I don't mind the latter, it just gets lonely." The guy cracks the bottle and watches Dielle with the dog. "That is a large animal."

Alocer gives a happy chuff when Dielle greets him, "I'm alright. This one is feeding me." he nods his head to Signe. "But, we're working on it." he tells the rainbow. The Hellhound doesn't mind being petted or hugged.

Signe gives a smile to Dielle, "Heya Dielle, you been doing alright?" she asks the woman. "He mentioned you when I went to coax him out of Ker's place. So I'm glad he got to see you." she tells her. "He tried to take my arm off the first night though." she chuckles. Then she looks back to Tony, "Oh I'm sure we could get them riled up about something and have them get a good old fashioned mob going." she laughs. "Better to keep on the down low though." she adds. "The east bank is just...weird. You know how every town or county has urban legends about places not to go? Well that's ours." she admits. "And yes, it does get lonely. I understand that." she nods. Then she turns her attention back to Dielle and Al, "His mask is a Tibetan Mastiff. They are huge things. He's amazingly warm though." she muses.

Dielle ends up just sitting on the floor, somewhere near where the other two are. "Been keeping myself. We closed the Arena, Jon and I ain't business owners, even if he /does/ want to open a youth center in it." She's clearly doing this to spend some quality time with a DOGGIE. "Warm, huh? Sounds like a great thing in the winter. Didn't CB and some others start a damn mob a few months ago with some kind of weird-ass dance-off? Honestly, it's a wonder that dipshit ain't been found by Loyalists by now."

Signe moves over towards Dielle and Alocer and there's a smile to the two as she watches them. "Yeah, he snuck into my room the other night and slept on the bed. Got up at four in the morning and felt like I was in a sauna." she muses. Then she sighs, "You'd think with as many Changelings as we have and the power level of some that people would be a bit more careful. Guess since he's not in the Freehold he doesn't think about those things though." she frowns at that as she takes a seat on the floor as well. "We didn't thinkk he was going to come home with me, but I'm as stubborn as he is apparently." she muses.

"I'm sorry about your cousin," Dielle tells Signe. "But I'm glad you outstubborned this one, I was worried about him." She looks over at this giant dog who she may be on eye-level with and raises an eyebrow, then grins. "And between dance-offs and molotov cocktails in the cop station...yeah, he thinks he's smart, but I don't have a real high opinion of his common sense. I'd love to tell him that someday, but it involves seeing him, which I mostly don't. So, how are you doing? What are you up to?"

Alocer lays down between the two of them, "I bit her. But I apologized." the hellhound tells Dielle. Like an apology makes up for the big thing trying to maul ya. Then he stretches his back legs out into Signe's lap.

Signe gives Dielle a soft look and a smile, "Nothing for you to be sorry about. Beau and others stated that if anyone else would have went in they'd be dead to. So I'm glad you were not hurt." she tells her. "Ker was very much a Dusk and she didn't go out without a fight." she adds. She pulls the sleeve up on her jacket and shows the still healing stitches, "Yeah, he's totally stubborn, but we've gotten a routine going. It'll be fine." she smiles. "He's...I don't know. I never met him, probably not going to at this point. Too much trouble." she shakes her head. "And I'm doing alright. Tattooing a bit when I'm not tending bar at Desrochers. How are you and Jon doing besides closing the business down?" she asks.

"He's at training camp for football, so fine, I guess? Hard to have huge arguments when he's not around, not that we did before anyway." Dielle skritches Alocer some more and says, "I miss hell out of him, but we talk on the phone. You're Freehold, right? I could swear I just heard you say you were."

Signe grins, "You know, the last time I got into a huge argument with a guy he changed into a Werewolf, so I tend not to make them upset." she laughs. "But yes, it's different when they aren't around." she nods in agreement. Then there's a nod as she tickles the pads of Alocer's paws, "Yeah. Joined when it was started. Figured I'd stop hiding out and start to get to know others again." she admits.

"A /werewolf/? Man, and I thought I lived an interesting life! Holy shit!" Dielle snickers, and shakes her head. "Had an acquaintance who kept getting kidnapped by vampires, but I think he kinda liked it." She shakes her head, it's not for her. "Let's see. I got made a Lieutenant in the Harvestmen, but I'm pretty sure it's because no one else wanted the job and almost everyone's quit even thinking about being militia."

"Yeah...after the revelation we broke up. Because that's just a bit too much for me. I've got enough stuff going on that mood swings are just not something I want to worry on." Signe chuckles. "I'm guessing the biting is good or something? Wait...don't answer that." she shakes her head. She then listens to things, "Congrats on the promotion, but I'm sorry it sounds like the group is a mess." she frowns. "Militia might be better sometimes." she admits after that.

"Yeah, well..." Dielle looks like she wants to say something, then shakes her head. "I was about to say something about leadership, but that might be because I miss having a leader who could, y'know, lead." She makes a face, then shrugs. "I'm tryin' to be better about being so damned honest about people, though, it ain't nice."

"If they suck at their job...then they suck at their job. Can't really hide the fact if that's the case." Signe tells her. "But, I understand. The Desrochers are kinda in a flux where the family is missing a few key people and I'm trying to support a lot. So maybe with time it'll get better." she tells her with a hopeful look.

"We can only hope, right? But hey, I gotta go, I've got laundry to change out so that I can get into a shirt that don't look like I'm five and wearin' my daddy's shirt. You got my number?" Dielle gives Alocer one last skritch, reluctantly. Seriously, this woman needs a pet.

"Hope is a good thing." Signe smiles to that. Then there's a soft smile as she starts to get up as well, "Yeah, we've gotta get back to the bar. I'm on shift tonight." she admits. "I've got your number, yeah. I'm going to throw a shindig at the bar sometime so I'll send you and Jon an invite as well." she tells her as they both prepare to head out.
