The Queen of Storms

Forms

The Queen of Storms, Grey Queen, Stormqueen... she goes by many names, and although she is referred to in the feminine, most often she is a slowly roiling mass of Grey clouds overhead, with a Dark central core. When speaking with her playthings, she's known to condense into a mass of black clouds with thunderless-lightning coiling about her. She is the beauty in destructive force.

Personality

She delights in the destruction of ships, watching from her throne at the highest level of a cliffside castle. She favors manipulation and trickery to brute force, rarely keeping the Lost in literal chains. Promises of love and responsibility in exchange for freedom are her typical tunes.

Stormcoast

Thundering Seas

An expansive sea of perpetual storms and danger spreads outward beneath the gaze of the Grey Queen. Near the coastline, massive jagged stones rise from the water, shaped by her touch. It is a place of treachery, even when all appears safe on open waters. Approaching the coast, things visibly become worse, as would-be Captains attempt to navigate the maze of rocks and eddies. Occasionally, the failure of such crews can be seen, as ships slowly disappear into the black waters or rest, grounded on the beach to be torn asunder by wind, rain and salt.

Castle Greystone

Seemingly hewn by wind and rain, massive, jagged grey stones make up the massive structure that forms the Grey Queen's labyrinthine castle. There are areas dedicates to prisons and slave pens, as well as a market area where Privateers come to drop off their 'Goods'.

Lost Woods

A stretch of woodlands reach outward away from the beach and castle, mostly ignored by the Grey Queen. The Grey Queen keeps her will in the region policed through the use of an appointed Warden and proxies. There is a single road the creates a giant circle within the region, and is commonly used by Privateers without safe ship passage to the realm. Though, it's still somewhat unclear how a road leading in a circle leads anyone in or out.

Methodology

The Queen of Storms favors taking people by the sea more than any others, but she's also known to deal with Privateers and Ship-merchants.

Suggested Themes for Escapees

The Grey Queen makes promises of Freedom to those who fulfill a particular workload for her, often involving the torment of other Changeling. Whether this is true or not is hard to say, as very few individuals have ever met such terms with her. Many groups of individuals come and go in the Grey Queen's realm, trading and dropping off bounties.
