The Lord of Ashenvalley

The Lord's territory is vast, expanding across the South of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. Operating on the Mexico-US border.

Description

The Lord is a Giant, living tall and brute among his court of Giants in endless medieval feasts and balls thrown in his castle of god-like proportions, any Changeling would be but the tiniest of mice, never able to catch a glimpse of their Keeper or his court except for the rare - albeit fatal - chance the Lord pays attention to you. By then his features become clear: with the complexion of a volcano; dark cracked skin, flaming hair and beard (that stands actually on fire), a deep set of onyx eyes like the empty core of a dormant volcano.

He does not take kindly to rats or insects, and in such a preposterously huge household, you certainly look like one.

Realm

Castle Ashengard. A literal castle, massive enough to fit an entire court of noble Giants.

Methodology

Let them in.

The castle’s doors are open to all who wish to enter – or to those who got lost enough to wander in – with its labyrinthine geography that would only make sense to a Gentry and a Giant, few Changelings find their way out, much less survive under the harsh rules of the household: eat but only the food of the Giants’ feast that touches the floor; be nimble as to not be seen, lest you be squashed like the insect that you are. The Lord of Ashenvalley and its guests seem to not take note of the filthy rodents that the winds drag in their doorstep...unless you are seen.

Preferred Victims

Wanderers and Dreamers. Humans with an aptitude of walking aimlessly, fond of sight-seeing, those who get drunk on the scenery that surrounds them enough they do not pay attention to the road until it’s too late. The Lord also prefers those with high ambitions, those he specifically seeks for sport, for when stripped of their goals all that is left is the shell of a coward, one that he help build, those Changelings he keeps in cages and treats them worse than he does the rodents living under his boots.

Not a single of his prizes has escaped yet.

Common Creations

Darkling and Beast. Whether be by slithering in the dark and never resurfacing or fighting for scraps with other Changelings, the ones that survive Ashengard Castle tend to take forms that resemble either smoke or opportunist and cunning animals such as rats, spiders, snakes, etc.

Allies

None. He is chief among his clan, his word is law.

Escapees
