Before you stands a near giant of a man at 6'8". Despite his height the most abnormal thing about Hien appears to be body-modding. His skin is an even, chocolate brown, although his right arm is a lighter, coppery color. He generally exhibits a sardonic attitude and a dry sense of humor. His voice is guttural, something near feral with every deep and raspy word spoken.

He has a face that reads as predator. Narrow eyes that only open as he focuses in on someone. His body is seemingly on the verge of pouncing the nearest thing, and coiled tight with anticipation. His smile, though, is nothing short eye-catching. Those pearly whites are sharper than any human's teeth should be, but they're fakes. Right?

Hien keeps his hair locked up, and has had them as such for some time. Those dreads reach down just past his shoulders. He usually keeps his hair tied up in a ponytail, but he keeps them down and around his head often. His visage is youthful, although the gaunt eyes and crow's feet tell a different story. The strangest of all are his eyes. His left eye is dark brown. Yet, his right eye is a stark blue.

His frame is slender. Lithe. It would be easy to mistake him for a runner or even a dancer were it not for the scars found here and there. Tightened, thin muscle cover his thin frame, and it's covered in something wet at all times. However, it doesn't appear to be sweat or water, and carries no scent of its own. Despite all that his right arm is as dry as a log in the desert.

Hien wears whatever works for the weather. He might dress well enough for special occasions, but those are rare. If wearing shoes isn't a rule he will forgo them. Full stop, point blank. He also has a rather obvious bias for blues in his clothing.

This thing looks like it came out of a horror movie. It couldn't exist. It shouldn't. Here it is nonetheless. Here he is. All 6'8" of him: the frightful horror from the deep. When this scaly thing speaks his voice is guttural. Something near feral with every deep and raspy word spoken. Despite his monstrous appearance he exhibits a sardonic attitude and dry sense of humor.

The scaled Beast is a predator. Narrow eyes that never blink save a nictitating membrane (third eyelid). The hair atop his head are queer little tendrils that move and wriggle with his room. Each of those tendrils ends in a faintly glowing nub that lights up with his mood.

His mouth is full of pearly whites sharp enough to rend flesh. It only sinks in how many of those sharpened teeth he has in his mouth when he opens up his unnaturally wide maw for a smile. Three slits are on the left and right sides of his neck, and they flare open at times to reveal themselves as gills.

Webbed fingers and toes surprise no one, but they're not the weirdest thing. They're each capped off with claws as sharp as the those found in his equally terrifying maw.

Scales cover the majority of his body, although his right arm isn't made of the same stuff. The scales on that arm feel and sound like metal when tested. That right arm isn't covered in the usual sheen of the rest of his body, and is as dry as a log in the desert.

His frame is slender. Lithe. It would be easy to mistake him for a runner or even a dancer were it not for the scars found here and there. Tightened, thin muscle cover his thin frame, and it's covered in something wet at all times. Yet, it doesn't appear to be sweat or water, and carries no scent of its own.

Hien wears whatever works for the weather. He might dress well enough for special occasions, but those are rare. If wearing shoes isn't a rule he will forgo them. Full stop, point blank. He also has a rather obvious bias for blues in his clothing.

His mantle is just barely there, and seems almost nonexistent. It manifests in his shadow. Regardless of the light, or lack thereof, the tenebrous reflection stretches further and wider than it should.

Tropes
Hooks

Bow and Sword in Accord

He's taken to using a bow the last half a year. He's no expert archer, but he's getting there. Slowly. Very slowly.

Blood Knight

He no longer seeks overt conflict, but he's never turned away from it either.

Break the Haughty

What happened to him after Ashoka beat the breaks off of him.

Elemental Shapeshifter

Hien will turn into water itself from time to time.

Fighting Fingerprint

The fighting style is too distinct. Even if they didn't get a name or his apperance was hidden.

From Camouflage to Criminal

This is the path Hien took from his esacpe until only a few short years ago.

I Hate Past Me

There is no regret for his actions, but it does get tiring. His peace is short-lived, and he always has his head on a swivel.

Hunter of Monsters

The job of any Hedge Warden.

Implausible Fencing Powers

Hien weaves magic into his swordsmanship rather effortlessly, and rarely fights with blade alone.

Making a Splash

A Changeling with a Supernatural affinity for water. Those gills have to be good for something.

Me's a Crowd

It isn't uncommon to see multiple when dealing with him.

Organic Technology

His left eye and right arm aren't anything close to normal. They're quite weird and Wyrd.

Reformed Criminal

Kind of, but not completely. He's not as bad as he used to be.

Stealth Expert

Of the mundane variety.

You Can't Go Home Again

He can't. Literally and figuratively.

(Foreigner, all)

He's not from around VT, and tends to stick out like a sore thumb.

(Arizona, all)

Hien's home. One of the few widely known things about his life before his capture.

(Nopales, all)

The pads and fruit are his favorite thing in the world, and one of the few things he's known to break bread over. Sadly, none of it grows naturally here.

(Amphibious, all)

Hien is at home on land and in the water, and favors the latter. He can be found in Lake Brunsett or The Tam River in the mornings.

(Beast, changeling)

The amphibious sort. He does not take kindly to being called a fish. Frog is mostly okay.

(Autumn, changeling)

As much about magic as he is about fear.

(The Sable Wind, changeling)

The Rival of the The Silver Winnower, and Hien's Keeper.

(Assassin, crime, supernatural)

Despite the rumors and hearsay, Hien is an assassin. Not some serial killer. Difference being that the one is a job and the other's mental sickness. He will take almost any contract, although he has grown somewhat choosy over the years.

(The Demon Wind, supernatural)

He built up a dark reputation among Changelings. From Arizona, eastbound, and then north from Texas. He has killed the supernatural and mortal alike. He's mostly known among Freeholds for his affinity for regicide. So long as the price was right he'd lop a head off without question. While he was known for his preference of killing his marks near the water he gained his fame for simply coming off the wind to deliver a killing blow. He has left some of that life behind, now, but it hasn't left him.

(Regicide, changeling)

More than a few kings and queens have had be deposed by Hien's blades. Some of their replacements may have taken out hits on him, exiled him by name, or spread many a vile "rumor" to besmirch his name.

(Enemies, all)

Hien's killed a lot of people in his lifetime. During and after his time in Arcadia. That along with his fame means two things. He has and will always be hunted by someone seeking vengeance. There are also people that have been paid, supposed equals and the like, to take his life. It is not an uncommon occurrence for either party to attack him, and it's long since stopped being a surprise.

(Collector, all)

He has an extensive collection of swords, daggers, and several other blades. He also collects wine glasses, and would quite literally kill for any that are supernatural in origin.

(The Monster of the Tam, all)

Something awful has been terrorizing the waters of New Brunsett...
Songs & Logs
Wave by stackztootrill
You rather be surfin',
No, we do not need no rehearsin'.
We ridin' two deep like Excursions.
Dippin' through traffic I'm swervin'.
Apples of her eye, but I'm the most updated version.
Everytime I hit it feel like a virgin.
Ready to cash all my checks, no conversion.
I am the boss so I do the dispersin'.
We on a wave of the state we immersed in.

Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood by Nina Simone
Baby you understand me now,
If sometimes you see that I'm mad.
Dontcha know no one alive can always be an angel?
When everything goes wrong you see some bad.
But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good.
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

What's up Danger? by Blackway
I'm insane, but on my toes.
I could keep the world balanced on my nose.
I had a slumber party wit' all my foes
Now I wear them like a badge of honor all my clothes.
If I'm crazy, I'm on my own.
If I'm waitin', it's on my throne.
If I sound lazy, just ignore my tone
'Cause I'm always gonna answer when you call my phone.
The Die by Lupe Fiasco, GemStones
Well I herd like groups of cows
That all your enemies wanna shoot you down.
They got AK-47's and a bunch of Mac-11's,
Semi-automatic weapons that produce ka-pows.
Word on the street is they all got heaters,
They gon' hit you up, you ain't even gonna see it.
You got a lot of money, I ain't tryin' to be funny,
But they say where you goin', you ain't even gonna need it.

GIANTS by Thutmose, Becky G, Keke Palmer, Soyeon, DUCKWRTH
I keep on shatterin' time:
I might just leave you behind.
Homie, you stuck on rewind.
You should quit sleepin' on mines.
You got your back on recline
When I damage your delicate spine,
Please don't act all shy and surprised. 누구?
They be like 뭐, they be like
What you mean? What is your winning scheme?
I got a giant team (that's what?), big as my self esteem.
Run it back, run it back, runnin' man.
They think they go hard, I'm like come again.
You run out of time when I'm bustin' in, while you stumblin'
I got this blade in my hand for your punishment.
