A young Graywolf sat at the high table, propping an elbow on the wood and holding his chin. His grandfather, an old, Comanche Shaman upended the box in front of him.

A large snake slid onto the table with a thump. Graywolf barely had time to register what it was before it struck at his face. He saw its mouth open, huge, fangs glittering. He was moving back, but too slowly.

Then the snake disappeared and Graywolf was falling backward off the stool. He landed flat on his back but bounced up to his feet in an instant.

The Shaman was holding the snake behind the head. He had grabbed it out of the air while it was striking. “Do you know what this is Malaki?”

Breathless he answered, “It’s a western Diamondback rattle snake.” Indeed it was one of the most deadly snakes in the region. They grew large, easily as thick as a woman’s forearm and those they bit often died in agony.

“No, it’s the price of failure,” his grandfather replied, punctuated by the rattle of the snake's tail.

Native American: Malaki Graywolf was born into the Comanche Nation in Lawton, Oklahoma on Sunday, December 1, 1985. He is a full-blooded Comanche Indian. At age seven, he became the stepson of Chakotay Longshadow, Chieftain among the Shakopee Mdewakanton. The Shakopee Mdewakanton Tribe are the richest American Indians in the nation, thanks to the one million dollar annual payouts that each member receives. The payouts are the windfall from lucrative casinos and resorts that the tribe runs on its reservation. Are you a gambler?

Resources: Malaki grew up working for the Shakopee Mdewakanton people, in their Hotels, Casinos and resorts. Being the Chieftain’s stepson afforded him the opportunity to make his own millions. He is known to be a wealthy Philanthropist these days. You may meet him in charitable social circles.

Education: In his youth, Malaki attended Carleton College, in Northfield, Minnesota. His knack for business gave him the necessary edge required for survival in the corporate world. He earned his money. So, his tastes are refined. If your polished upper class, he may have crossed your path.

Spirits: Malaki has allies among the ancestor spirits. One in particular. A very powerful one, albeit a racist. If you have any dealing with the denizens of the Twilight, it could come up. Maybe.

Vigilante: Because he's the hero we deserve, but not the one we need right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Knight.
